5-6 inches of rain yesterday should have been my clue to stay home and sleep in, but I wanted to get out.

Cloudy but mostly sunny. Mid 80's wit a slight breeze. Water levels are way up. Never seen Overholser this high before.

Wind out of SE so we worked the north and west end of the lake for most of the morning and afternoon. I stuck with basically 4 baits all day.

Started off with a Whopper Plopper 110 in Loon. I was anxious to try out the Citica 200E I stole from the Gambler. 20# Senshi Mono. Love love this setup for topwater on my St. Croix Avid MHM. Thank you again for the killer deal my friend!

1/16 oz Picasso jig head and Keitech Swing Impact in Pro Blue Shiner. Threw this on the 852 GLX on 7# FC Sniper. Wind gave me some hell, but the Yumeya spool in this V2 helped a bit.

Tried out these new Culprit 7" worms in Tomato. 1/4 oz pegged tungsten weight with a 4/0 OSRB VMC hook. Love the way this worm stands up on end. I had one hit that lost me the tail on my worm, so I chalked it up to a pan fish or sand bass.

Really got to work out the Curado 200k today too. Spent the majority of the morning with this setup. 3/8 oz Picasso jig head and a 4" Shadnasty swimbait. The XG was a little fast, but I liked it. This swimbait is slowing becoming my favorite.

Even broke out the Zinkers when it got hot. No go. Used my go to Yamamoto watermelon w/ Black n Gold and Zman the deal. Munchkin spent the entire day with a Zinker with nothing. He was a trooper though.

Seen some ducks/geese too.

Had a little fun too

Spent another two hours cleaning this mess up

Good day, but no fish. I wasn't the only one 0/0 though. Hell, even the cat fisherman were drunk and 0/0.

Is it time for Guntersville yet?

Thanks for the report and sorry y'all didn't catch any fish and glad to see your boy stick with it all day without a fish.  ~c~ Are you sure there are fish in that lake,  lo lo Maybe next time you will find some hungry fish. Glad your gear got a work out and that you like it. Oh here ya go I found something for your wall.  ;D

I'm begging to wonder Lip. The reason I hit this lake so much is is easy to assess all but the east end and you can park your truck right down on the water. Also, there was an old timer that worked the reel counter at Academy for years. He had a bragging board where he caught several double digit bass out of there. It was one or two a year, but there are some fat sows in there for sure.

Something must be wrong with them cause they sure don't like you very much. They keep you. If they are in there keep trying you got to catch them with their mouth open sooner or later. ~bb

At least any day fishing is better than not fishing!
Old Harvey seems like he is going to dump some rain on us in North Louisiana so I'm heading to Oklahoma to spend a few days with my son.
I will probably fish Oologah Lake with my life-long friend there.  He is killing the Crappie.  I'll have to leave my bass stuff at home or I'd be throwing it at 'em!

I haven't heard much about Oologah lake. Most around here either go south or west.

Oologah is a beautiful lake.  They put out a lot of brush tops that attract both crappie and bass.  I didn't get a chance to go when I was there this week, but I did drive by the lake and it looks nice and clear.
It can get pretty rough when the wind is high though.
When I grew up in Oklahoma, we fished mostly Grand, Ft. Gibson and Euchea (Spavinaw).  Oologah was being flooded at the time I moved away.
