Bass: it is football jig time at LOZ and it will continue into the fall season. Bass are deep and using two types of structure. Ledges along bluffs and long sloping points. The bass are not using the bluff ends but can be found on ledges on bluffs where changes occur. Rock falls, large crevices along bluffs are holding bass on the surrounding ledges at 15-20 ft. Long sloping points dropping into the channel are also good for football jigs. The bass are near the bottom on the slope just before the drop. They may also be suspended over the drop and will hit the jig as it drops into the channel. Stroking the jig works very well at this time.

Crappie: crappie are found in the darkest shadows of docks during the day. Large condo or commercial docks are the best. Blue crappie jigs or minnows are working the best during the day.

White Bass: it is best to troll deep cranks at this time. Troll along bluffs with natural color crank baits.

Catfish: Channel cats can be caught year round on almost any bait. Flatheads can be caught fishing live shad or blugill. Blue catfish, the "King" of the lake, are biting on cut shad, cut blugill and shad guts.

Walleye: are the secret fish of LOZ. Found throughout the lake, they are seldom fished. You can find them on your finder around large, deep forage schools. Walleye will be schooled and swimming back and forth to the side of the forge school. The Walleye school will appear larger than bass schools.

Wizard sounds like a great time to be fishing for just about whatever you want to catch.  ~c~
