Very nice bass danny!  Hope you caught some more today.  Maybe this weather will hold out for us next week so we can do that over at Fork,  cant wait!! ;D

No big ones today, but I stayed shallow again most of the day looking for easy ones. I can not get anything going shallow. I caught two slots shallow, moved deep around 11:00 and caught seven (three overs) I hope my clients know how to pitch!!!!

Oh yeah, same bait, same depth

The bite is coming back strong and should only get better with the temperatures staying warm. Afternoons have definitely been best over the past few days. Most fish have been really shallow and easy to catch. Watermelon colored trick worms and V&M Pork Shad have been working best. Anywhere there is clear water with a cypress/heavy grass mix is the trick. Have been catching some deep(7-9 ft.) off the cypress using black/red lizards and worms. Lake temps as of today were ranging from 59-64 degrees and the lake is on a slow fall.
Go to http://bayououtdoors.com to see the V&M and Cyclone line of baits.

Went yesterday evening for a couple of hours. Fished 5pm.-dark, caught 9 fish in one area on spinnerbait in about two foot. I'll tell you where these are. North Bank between old bridge and hwy 1 bridge. Fishing singles and buck brush, I seen some spawning in the bushes, but I did'nt fool with them. I only had four over (17) out of the nine.
Gotta go, got a trip at 7:30.

We hit Caddo yesterday looking for new areas we haven't fished. Burned a tank of gas and still haven't figured this lake out >:(. Clear water in Jeems :-\?? Could've fooled me lo!

Seriously, water temps started around 63 and was 65+ when we left. Found some new areas and caught 4, 2 dinks and two twin slots. 1 on a crank and the others on different plastics. Looks like another loooonng day for us tomorrow.

You guys are going to have to get some wind tommorow or its going to be tough. Some folks say its easy out there. I say Bullcrap. I'm out there everyday. I know whats really going on.  This lake has not been right since the water come up. Yeah, you can happen up on a few fish here and there, but it is in no way, normal. Normally you can catch fish anywhere on the lake this time of year, its not happening. Its going to get better, I just wish that it would hurry up. Good Luck Guys

If I was fishing the tournament tommorow, I would not go to the Texas side. I would fish every pocket on the La. side of the lake. I would hit every single deep tree in every pocket I come to. Cover has much water has you can in 8 hours. Thats just me, I'm sure some would disagree.

Mr. bigmouth

Wish all you guys in the twin city team tourny good luck tom. hope yall catch some great sacks of fish.At least its a heck of a lot better than last weekend  when my tourny was  lol

Had a 1/2 day guide trip yesterday and caught 16. 3 were overs and most of the rest were slots. Fishing in shallow clear water where the cypress/grass mix is thick. Watermelon pork shad and trick worms were the trick. The bass here lately have seemed to be either real shallow or deeper than normal but are easily caught if you search out these type of waters. See you on the water. ~gator

I caught a fish :) :) :) :) :) :)

Official weight is 11.18 lbs.
27 inches long
19.5 inch girth..

Caught her about 9.30 this morning on a Zoom black/blue flake lizard on a big cypres in about 5 feet of water..

Caught her in Thompsons Arm.....She had already spawned out..Look at her tail..

Took her to the Ranger station at Williamson park and had official weight and measurement taken...I'll get a replica made of the fish..FREE of charge... :)

ATTENTION TCTC MEMBERS!!....The ranger allowed me to take her back where I caught her sooooooooo she is swimming somewhere in Thompsons Arm.  ;) :) :)

Besides her I did have a great day on the water...Lost count but caught at least 8 in the slot...4 over the slot not counting the big girl with largest allmost 4 lbs. and 4 or so under the slot.....Could have caught more in one area I was on fish but another angler was in the area in a tournament so backed off and found others...

Bite was OK..caught a few including the big girl on zoom black/blue flake lizard but most came on a Lake Fork Craw in Blue Bruiser...

Most all the fish were holding very tight on the trees...You really had to allmost hit the tree to get a bite..Miss by more that a foot or so and no bites...sometimes in took multible casts to same tree..

Well...I am one happy old basser today... ;D

Good luck to all the TCTC members tomorrow..

Nice one RattlinScottie!  I think Thompson's Arm may be fished a little more the next few days.   :)

Chris

Scottie , awesome day brother....thats the kind of day we all dream about. That fish weighed more than all 13 we caught today . lo   ~gator

Crustaceous

The fishing was tough today in my boat.  Me and my pal Dave caught six fish, but one was a crappie (on an 8" Gene Larew worm, no less), and two were jack fish.  We hit the water probably around 7:00am, and I finally caught a bass (around 1.5#) a few minutes after one o'clock.  Super Dave landed a 4 lb'er a little later, and I got a nice fight from a FAT bellied 6.5 around 4:30.  I'd post a pic, but am having technical difficulties.

Despite the tough fishing conditions, it was a nice day.  I got the distinct honor to meet the infamous Papa, and had a tremendous visit.  I'll forget most of the day's fishing trip, but I'm glad to have gotten the opportunity to pick the brain of a real expert.  Rock on, Papa.  Good luck tomorrow.

Marty

Man, what a great fish!  I wasted the day on Cross yesterday, a friend tried to convince me to fish Caddo instead, but nooooooooo...I wouldn't listen!  I caught one with a tail that looked just like that, but it only weighed 3 lbs lo.  Congratulations on the biggun.  I've lived here 10 yrs now & haven't caught one over 8 lbs (Caddo) but I did catch a 10 pounder in another state so I know the feeling of having a big 'ol head bending your pole.  It's scary because once you realize how huge it is, then you start to sweat about your line, knot, hooks, rod etc.!   Yep, that's one to be proud of!  Thanks for the pic.

Marty

Great day Scottie,  ~c~CONGRATULATIONS

Good Fish Scottie
Looks like a $3,000 fish to me. If only you had been in the big bass tourney out of Uncertain. I think it would have been tough to beat that one. If she only had eggs, she would have been in Tyler right now at the over 13lb. club. GOOD CATCH!!!!!!

Well I could have stayed home for all I found out today, I caught a few but most were slots, I guess I was just in the wrong place. Was nice to meet Crustacous and his buddy.
By the way There is lots of very clear water in Jeems.

Dad and brother down from Iowa visiting so went to Caddo for the first time today.  Fished from safe light till about 1430.  Caught 5 slot fish and one chain pickerel. Two bass caught on a black blue jig, one on a fluke near some lily pads and the other two on a black blue lizard.  Water looked good up in Jeems but don't know how to fish it with all that grass.  Had to pick my trolling motor up every 5 minutes to clean it off and the only lures that would not get hung up in the grass were top water and weightless plastics. Four of the five bass came in dirty water with alot less grass. As of now I think I might skip the next ABA because it sure is frustrating to catch good fish that you can't even use to weigh in, plus I think I would just be donating $65 to someone else's pocket.  But if I just want to go fun fishing looking for some big ones I guess Caddo would be the place to do it.

Fished Caddo for a little while after work..got on the water around 4:00....Motored to Thompsons Arm...it was muddied up pretty bad...My pard caught 1 slot on a black/blue flake senko..

Then the Storm hit...Really looked like most was going to the west of us...was a little lightning so we got under a canapy of smaller trees...then...we're looking at blue sky's to the east...next moment we were slammed into the trees by an extremely strong wind...I'd say a steady 40-50 mph sustained for a minute or so....and raining buckets of water....puncho's were a waste of time... lo....it was bad, but passed just as quick as it came on us....Got a boat load of cypress balls and stuff though.... lo :(

Storm passed and cleared so started fishing more...wanted to run eslewhere but motor wouldn't crank...

Trolled on up toward power plant and pard caught a nice 4 pounder and then another small one..both on the same color senko.....that was pretty much it..and I got skunked.... >:(

Trolled on back to the landing and loaded boat...

On the way home it hit me....When we stopped and I stood up after running to Thompsons,  I had pulled the kill switch from the socket....DUUUUUUUHHHHHH.... :roll2:

Anyway...back to the lake in the morning....Think I'll just go with him this time...but all in all..was a pretty normal day on the water.. ;D

Back to Caddo this morning...Launched out of Tuckers and fished mostly around the trees north of Bird Island....There were a few fish in the area but wind made it tough to stay on them...Seemed to be holding pretty tight to the trees also...Caught 3 slots including a nice 17.5 incher and 3 keepers....

All the bass came on a Lake Fork "Fork Craw" in Blue Bruiser....black with a lot of blue flakes mostly on one side...

What was interesting was the googleeye we caught....I caught 4 and pard caught 3 and had a few others at the boat..Most of those also came of the Fork Craw.....they'll be right tasty.. ;D

And saw one aligator sunning...and were else, but in Aligator Bayou... :)
