My buddy and I will be out there in the morning .....hope to see at least some of you there ..will be in the Pro Gator or Skeeter.

I will probably be out there somewhere, maybe south end of Green break or up in Jeems.

Fished Caddo yesterday from 0700-1130. Water was clear to stained and 79-84 degrees. Wind was rough early but settled down when the cloud cover set in. Caught an over, a slot, an under, and missed 4 more.

Saw Mitch and Jay(? can't remember) and Kenny P and his son. Had a nice chat before sun-up. We also met a friendly gent at the ramp, name is Wally. Gave us some tips. Ran into him later on the lake and talked for awhile. Told him about UB and TCTC. Said he might be interested in fishing with us if he can find a partner.

Overall a good day! Ran into some friends, met a new one, and caight some fish :)!

~c~ Sounds like fun....wish I could get away and come fish it. The last time I was on Caddo was in the late 70's, the wife and I got the worst sunburn we ever had. Maybe I can take my wife to visit her mom and get out there.....I'll need some help getting around though.

Fish Cobra, you know you always have a fishing partner if you make it this way :-* Just give me some advance notice and we can hit the lake, no problem....

Fished Caddo today, bad news is I caught 4 SLOT fish, good news is that three of them came with in a 100 yard stretch so maybe if I get there earlier there might be some hungry bigger fish :-* Caught one on a worm, two on a spinner bait, and one on a horny toad. Missed 4 other good strikes before I figured out the horny toad. I guess it goes with out saying that grass is the key, not hard to find by the way :'( Some of my favorite water is so thick with pads that I can't even get to it :'( much less fish it. All my fish came on the main lake

~c~ Sounds like a plan buddy. The wife just said today that she'd like to go see her mom in a few weeks. I'll definately take you up on it. I should know something next week as to when we'll be over there. ~c~  ~c~ Really looking foward to it. Are Texas license good there?

I went to caddo today and should have stayed home ~xyz ALL OF MY FAVORITE SPOTS ARE UNFISHABLE.
I felt like I was on a new lake. I managed to catch a few fish but no pattern developed that I feel I could count on. A couple of slot fish on a big worm off of deep trees in Jeems and a few real small schoolies close to kool point.
Worst of all I got stuck trying to pull my boat out at Petes Shady Rest up in Jeems and had to get pulled out. Do not go to Petes if you had planned on it :'(

Oh I forgot to mention that we got on a small school of whites big enough to lip, short lived but fun anyhow...

Fish Cobra we have a tournament there the first Sunday of October but any other time would be great :-* yep a texas license is good there, shot I do most of my fishing on the Texas side ~shhh

Hummm i think we can go out witha big rake and clean a few spots before oct 2. I'm suprised that yall were able to throw a spinnerbait in all that mess unless you were fishing a boat row?. I hope to get out tuesday i want to head south towards the dam just to see what it looks like we have caught fish up there just not any big ones. but a small limit might just do the trick.. :-\

Mike Cork

Yeah Next time I go out I am going to check that way as well, besides I hear the whites school real good around the bridges :-*

Yeah, most of the fishing is done in the boat roads, some of the boat roads are only big enough for a prop with the pads hitting the sides of the boat as you go down them :shocking: Lots of boats up in the river? maybe that is where they are at :-\

well i didnt want to say that we are catching fish. biggest being 5 1/2. so i thought i would give a caddo lake report. water is in the low-mid 80's, there is some schooling going on on the big lake but they are small, topwater mostley. have to save the best for last. just stay in the boat row and be carefull. i might be there friday was told of a spot and need to go check it out. There is an old saying, Lose Lips Sinks Ships. so  ~shhh

blackbox

I'll help you out Brian. The areas I went to sucked, Had one bite. The lake looks totally different from what we were fishing a month ago. Best thing I can say is the boat ran good. See you on the water.

BIG PAPA

Everything changes if we get the rain they say we will! :(

Railroader

yeah i heard of the rain coming and i think i will wait till next week to go, want to see what it does to our areas.. so maybe wednesday or friday i will get out and give a full report.

Fished Caddo yesterday from 0720-1100. Water temps were in the low 80's, the lake was lower than last weekend, and lightly stained. Kermit caught most of the fish, I got 2. Of course with the influx of rain we're going to get, it'll be like Papa said, don't know where they'll be. But this was the only chance we had to get out before our tourney.

Well Howdy All,

New to the board and glad to find some others that fish Caddo also..I do most of my fishing on Caddo this time of year on the Texas side and right now mostly at night...when I do get the chance..

Last time I went was Saturday the 17th..caught a slot fish and a keeper under the slot before dark..then..Started using a black buzzbait after dark and had a blast...

I was fishing mostly in the Cypress River area near Johnsons Ranch....actually caught 2 in the slot right in front of J. Ranch and an 18 1/2 inch keeper..Overall that night I caught 10 fish on the buzzbait. 4 were in the slot and the largest caught was the 18+ incher mentioned earlier..

Last time I got to go in the morning was a few weeks back...had good luck using a crawfish colored rattletrap...Caught several in the slot but none over...

I'll probably be back there this Saturday night....hopefully...I'm in a grey  17' Alumaweld with a 70 horse Yamaha.....

Anyway..Howdy to all and hope to see you on the lake..
Scottie..

PS..Tell me about the tournaments your fishing...haven't fish any in a while but been thinking about getting back in some..

I sure wish I had a guide that was on fish that averaged better than 6 pounds a piece. It's a shame we will never know that pattern :'( Glad to hear the rain helped the lake out some it sure needed the water.

RattlinScottie, glad to have you aboard. Cool to have another night fisherman around. I love a good buzz bait bite expecailly at night. I hope the rain doesn't hurt your river pattern though. Keep us posted on that?
