well railroader? howd ya do today? i been off work today and i been waiting on an update...never fished for whites before...but i love to fish so if you say they are on then i may try to head that way...Jeremy

Mike Cork

Jeremy, if you get in the main river and start working a road runner or a rinky dink in and next to the main channel, you will find them :-* It may take covering some water but it is definately worth once you do ~c~

well i went got on the water around 10am tried rinky dink, caught a little sand bass and a few blacks, i tried from johnsons up to marthas crossing didnt find them, i caught 2 on a jig. we had 6 total for the day it would be nice if we had some current and water. i have gone and caught 133 in 3hrs on spoons it just not the same? might go back next week.

Railroader just out of curiosity what was the water temp :-\ with the extremely mild temps we have been having I don't think the water has cooled enough either :'( Normally we are a lot cooler and the rain is alot more often by now

well Mr. cork and I went to caddo friday and had a pretty good day, the fisrst spot we stopped at i caught A 4.11lb then the fish started schooling and they were not little. mike caught a 18in then a 19in and lost 5 all together that was about the same size or bigger. we could have had 5 overs in about 10 min it was awesome. but then the sun came out and it was over  :'( but what a way to start off a day.. so we went after a few whites had fun but just couldnt fine the bigger one's but i hope mike had a good time and next time i will show him another spot  ~shhh cant show em all at once lol.. the water is still down it started around 63deg but by the time we left it was 69.. clear in some places..

What you caught them on friday want work by then anyway. With the cold fronts coming thru i would guess by then things will be a lot different.

We caught them on weightless plastics, color didn't really matter. They would tear up your bait and I would grab the closest thing to me put it on and cast it and they would hit it. Schoolers are like that when it is a set of large bass. And most definately I am sure they will be long gone by then.  :'(

I'll be lucky if I get anytime to prefish if Caddo is chosen. The reason I was wanting to know what you caught them on was because of sunday on cypress. Had some schooling but couldn't get them to bite. Tried running a crankbait, spinnerbait, and a grub on a jig but no luck.

Bass fishing has been pretty decent on the upper end of the lake and should only get better as the water continues to cool. Bass are starting to show signs of schooling but are moving around some, but once the water really cools down over the next week they should get homed in on an area and stay. :)  The lake is still 2-3 ft. low. On the upper end we are using senkos and flukes mostly. The bass are hitting near the edges of the vegetation on the edges of the grass.
The white and yellow bass are beginning to pick up in the main river around Johnsons Ranch. Try roadrunners, small spoons, and rattletraps hopped off the bottom

upper end? Talking about towards the dam?

Railroader

Up toward the river, last friday when mike and i was fishing thats were we saw him fishing. we found some 6-7ft water and thats were they were? did you try a 1/4 rattletrap? or maybe a rinkydink? something like that.

BIG PAPA

Trey and I went this morning for a little while , almost got blown off the lake and then rained on.
But we did manage to catch some decent fish before the rain and wind combined ran us off.
We stayed a little further south towards Little green break and Whatley, caught fish on Frog and spinnerbait around the grass. Saw some very minor schooling in a boat row and a couple of large Bass chasing gizzard shad along the edge of a slough.

I went to caddo yesterday why i dont know it was very cold, but the fish did bite went back to where mike and i caught them schooling and i caught 2 lost 4. one slot and 1 over a 5.5lb. i lost the 4 before i put a trailer hook on ( ^-^). all were caught early between 0730 and 0800am after that ddint get another bite. i saw paul keith out today talked to him a bit. water was in the low 60's to high 50's wind was in the 20's mph. hopefully the wind wont be so bad plan on going friday. all  were caught on spinnerbaits, wanted to throw flukes but wind was just to bad. later
