Awesome job....Ditto on what Papa said...

BIG PAPA

As I already revealed in the Business  area I caught a 9lb. 8oz. Bass this morning on a Cavitron Buzzbait that I won on the site last week. I had one little area that I wanted to check out before a tourney saturday up in Jeems. On my second cast I had a little slurp and the Buzzbait disappeared, it was on. She is a little over 24 inches and looks like a Rugby ball. She in now of course resting comfortably in PAPA'S POND. I left as soon as I caught her so as to take no chances on her dying. She was in the pond 22 minuites after she was caught ~c~

That is incredible.... I dont think Ive had 39 over 5 pounds in my whole life....You can bet I will spend alot more time on Caddo this next fall and spring. Ive got to get a guided trip from you when it cools off outside.

I havent had a bunch over five pounds this year, maybe six. In 11 fishing trips (includes shootout and two tourneys) on Grand bayou I caught 29 overs which is  extremely exceptional for me. I dont think Ive had that many in one year from all lakes combined. It has been a pretty good year. Size wise.

BIG PAPA

I spend a lot of time on Caddo in the cold months. ;D That is when you can catch lots of big fish. lo

Congratualtions on the 9 pounder papa.  Some day I am going to go up there and fish Caddo.  I hear it is a beautiful lake besides having good fish. When I do go it there I will be looking for a "guide".

BIG PAPA

Sounds like my guide calender is filling up fast. :roll2:

Fished Caddo Saturday night up in the river.  Managed one dink on a buzzbait before dark.  I slow rolled a black spinner and pitched a brush hog and a ol' monster with no bites after dark.  It worked good for us a few weeks ago but nothing Saturday nite.

This time of the year I spend a lot of time in the area from markers 60 to 70 and then around markers 80 t0 85. In the 60 to 70 area there is some deeper water on the right side of the channel just full of stumps and little humps and slightly deeper spots, I fish a crank bait and carolina rig in there . On the left side I pitch a worm to the trees.
Around 80 to 85 the moss is very prominate I fish a frog , Horney toad or a ribbet over the grass on the right side of the channel all the way to the bank and all over the flats, paying close attention to the depth and the lily pads. although there are not many pads this year.
Now one of the real keys to me is a worm on the trees, in this same area. some have told me the moss is too thick to fish a worm around the trees, NOT TRUE almost every tree has at least a little room where there is a spot that you can get a worm in between the tree and the grass. Now on the left side the moss is so thick and the duck moss is almost unfishable except with a frog.
hope this helps

On the hydrilla problem on caddo. I think everybody is afraid to fight it. It intimidates them. There is almost alway's an opening of at least a couple of inches of open water around the tree's. You just have to put your mind into the fact that you are going to have to fight the stuff to get to the tree's. That's all Brian and I were doing on those Tuesday Night tournaments. But hey if you don't want to fish that way,  that's great. Leave all these fish to Papa and us. Chris come on man . You don't think you've caught over 39 overs in your life. Now I'll give Papa the edge on most everybody in the club, you know age and all  lo lo   . Just come the lake with  hot batteries, stought line, and a prayer. See you on the water.

Papa, Thanks for that info.
By the way, I pulled a nice little  ;) 6 pounder out of the lilly pads on a 4inch tube last weekend.
Still looking for that 9 pounder  :help:
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Dad and I fished caddo yesterday with 8 bites nothing big, it needs lots of water. plastics and crankbaits..

Mitch you will  see the sheriffs substation on your left and it is sitting right beside the ramp.
This is a ramp you could not miss it is right on the highway and there is a park there with camping spots.
