It is near Bird Island and Death Hole, if you know where that's at!  If not, it can also be found just off of boat road "F", on the South side.

I fished Caddo Saturday from sun up until 2PM, and only caught 3; 1 over and 2 unders.  The large fish came on a white buzzbait over some thick grass, while the other two bit a white frog in the pads and a watermelon seed wacky worm in the cypress trees.  I had 5#'s total, which would have been enough to take first place at a tournament that was going on when we got to the ramp.  Pretty sad for Caddo, huh?

Not really this time of year Caddo can be really tough in May and June. I say good job on catching an over......

Fished Caddo this morning until about 11:00...that was all the wind I could take.  Caught one under and one over (6.3 lbs.).  Fish came on buzz bait and worm.  Had several fish slap at a frog but no takers.

Good fish Mike, I was out there with Doc Waldo yesterday and found it pretty tough ourselves. Doc did catch a really nice over, around 4lbs, on a scum frog, but the rest of our fish were probably slots, didn't measure anything. We had a few slap at the scum frog, caught one on a spinner bait, and the rest came on worms. We fished everywhere and caught one here and there no real pattern.

Just a quick plug for the Bumble Bee WOW!!!! that sure is an awsome boat. The ride was amazingly smooth and solid at the same time. The boat held the water great in corners, and was very fishable. That 36 volt trolling motor will surely put someone in the lake before long though. I am also convinced if I ever buy a new boat it will have a hydraulic jack plate, if nothing else it is just way cool. Thanks Doc for the trip the fishing wasn't the best but the company was great, looking forward to our next trip......

Went to Caddo today from about 9 to 230.We put in at Shady Acres .It was windy so we ran to Alligator ..Stayed there most of the time and only caught 4 fish(three slots and one over) . 3 were on a senko and one was on a carolina rigged brush hog . The over was the only fish caught on the carolina rig and I caught it at about 2pm(19 inches). We couldnt get any fish off the grass with the senko- they were all next to trees. Not a great day but fun anyway. We talked to one boat and they said they had caught 14 so at least somebody was catching em........... ???

Went to Caddo this morning with Gabby from 6 until 12:30.  We only had two bites total all day!  (which we missed!)   :'( :'( We tried topwater, plastics, spinnerbaits, crankbaits, and pretty much everything else in my tackle box.  The water temp was 81 degrees and the grass is EVERYWHERE!!!  :o  Most of the places that I like to fish, only have 0-2 inches of water on top of the grass. >:(  It makes it pretty tough to fish when there isn't any water left.  Oh well, I guess I will just fish Cypress or Grand for a while.

Yeah, that was some tough fishing.  The only interesting things to speak of were that gar that was bitten in half by the gator and the bird crapping all over me.

I figured it would be pretty active in the morning, but what do I know?  I wouldn't mind learning some new waters....  Had fun though!

Went to Caddo sat and had the same type of results as everybody else. Fished all day and landed 3 or 4 fish. All slot bass. Ran all over the lake tring to find some fish but just couldn't get a concentration that would bite. Caught one here and there. Small worms and dead sticking flukes.

I am off on Thursday and am going to Caddo. Anyone intrested in going or is going, give me a ring/E-Mail and let me know. I'd love to have someone to talk to other than the voices in my head. ;D ;D ;D ;D.............Dave the (gimped up) Dope Man

Some of us have to work...can't just go anytime.  Anyway...the voices in your head already know you so the conversation is probably pretty good.  The bad thing, at least for me, is that the voices in my head tend to lead me towards trouble.

If you go...good luck Thursday.  There should be plenty of water to fish.

hey maybe the voices in both of our heads are talking with each other on a "pschic" level. You can't believe the places that the voices in my head have taken me. One time they took me to the Navy recuiters office, 4 years later they let me out. Top that!( other than marriage) thats a different story...............Dave the ( gimped up) Dope Man....... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Mike Noble

Now, I have to disagree that marriage is a different story.  Let see...in marriage (like the Navy): paperwork is required to get in, there is a period of basic training, weekend passes are very hard to obtain, you have duties assigned, you have to follow orders, you are always "out" ranked, privileges can be taken away if you mess up, and more paperwork is required to get out.  The only difference I see is that in the Navy, you can get a "honorable" discharge! ;D

To "top that", as you put it - My voices told me on several occasions to go fish Toledo Bend!!! >:(

One other thing...at least your voices only told you to join the Navy ONCE! ;D

Fished Caddo today from about 9:30 till about 4 pm. As is everyone else, I had a bit of trouble finding and patterning the fish. Here's what I found, The fish are buried up in the grass ( you guess what kind). very thick matted vegetation with holes of maybe a secondary grass line. I had to VERY SLOWLY jig my bait and wait for the line to start moving, then set the hook. depths were anywhere from 1 to 8 foot depending on where I was at. For general information- The gar and jacks are in the grass also, and I caught 2 BIG and I mean BIG  goggle eys that must have weighed a pound a piece, they were caught they same and the bass.................Try something blue............................Dave the (gimped up) Dope Man............. ??? ??? ??? ???

Red Skeeter

I will be heading to Caddo next weekend for some fishing. I have not been on the lake much, and I don't want to offend anybody, but is there any places on the east end that might be suitable for an amature? I have pretty much all of the baits that have been mentioned but location is a problem. If anybody has any tips they would be greatly appreciated.  ::)

jtholder00

The east end is all I fish.  I have rarely ventured any more westward than the draw bridge.  I put in at the launch at the draw bridge and always head east from there.  Right before you get to the white hump bridge you will see a lot of cypress trees.  We fish up in there a lot.  We will also head all the way down to the spill way and fish that pocket of cypress trees.  There are plenty of areas up in and around those places to throw your bait, just have to do a little searchin.

Mike Cork

Red Skeeter,

I think right now with the summer in full swing that depth is more important that location. We just had a tournament out there and the best stringer (which far out weighed the rest came from scattered deeper tress. Early fish anywhere you can find grass mixed with a few pads, try scum frogs buzz baits and even a weedless spoon. Then once the sun comes up switch to big worms on those scattered deeper trees. Good Luck and let us know how you did.

With the depth in mind, are there any maps that show creek channels or depths? I have only been able to find a direction map with the boat lanes, but no depths.  You guys have any input?

I Fished Websters Club turnament last  Fri. night the (18th) on Caddo .A bad storm front blew in about 6:30 and drop a monsoon of water on us. Must of been a cold front becouse the temp. droped quick and the fish didn`t bite. Fished the Texas side ,Ames spingbasen and G-1and D-1 boat roads And Didn`t  get  a nibble. Me are Gene. We didn`t stay for the wiegh in (long night) but talked to a few members on the lake , they had a few under and one over , I belive they cought them in Jeems bayou on soft plastics in about one foot of water next to the bank. It was a tough night for everyone.

Mike Cork

JoeFish was there alot of current in Amse? I like to fish that area at night but if the current is heavy it is kinda tough in the dark...
