Hwy 9 to Tucker's from Waskom.  Danny, you did a whole lot better on Caddo Saturday than I did!

Marty

Gabby

That's right!  Highway 9.  You will cross over some railroad tracks.

It's quicker to just launch in LA.

There is another way that's quicker. Around the Triangle on North Market there is a road (Pine Hill, Pine Cove, Pine something) that goes through Blanchard, I think that it turns into Blanchard Latex but it takes you to that stop sign by the Shell gas Station. It used to save me alot of time when I had a john boat but wanted to fish by Tuckers.

PINEHILL     Casso is right on both accounts if you need to drive go through Blanchard to latex rd.
follow that for 8-9 miles to the shell station and turn right.
It IS quicker by water from Williamson public launch or Shady Acres. No more  than 10 minutes from Williamson just follow the A boat row all the way. That is unless you live south west of Shreveport.

Thanks fellas, If I turn at the Shell will it take me to Tuckers? How about directions to the launch in Buzzard Bay, this may be close enough for me to get to the Tuckers area.
Thanks,
Danny

Yep, you take a right at the shell if your coming from Blanchard, straight if your coming from waskom. I don't know how to get to Buzard bay launch. But unless you are very concerned about making it Tuckers on the water or have a 5 horse its probably quicker to launch in LA (shady or williamson). I used to fish out of a 14ft john boat w/ a 9.9 and it was quicker to launch at Shady and run all the way over there than to drive back and forth in the truck. It used to take me 20-25 minutes to get there in the boat but that drive in the truck seemed for ever. Who knows I'm always in a rush to get on the water.

Daniel and I fished Caddo Sat. in the team Tourny.
We managed to catch enough for 4th place and Daniel caught the big Bass.
All in all it seemed to be a tough bite although we caught a bunch of solid slot fish mostly on frogs and Buzz baits in the pads.

The only thing I have to add was that while the weather was bad, the company was good. I sure had fun in real bad weather. My wife says we are sick for having so much fun fishing together on days like saturday. What does she know?

Went to Caddo this past Saturday evening.  The lilly pads are starting to come up and the fish were gravitating to them.   :)  Had several strikes on Scum Frogs and floating worms.  No real big fish yet (3.5), but missed a couple that jumped completely out of the water for a Yozuri Bannana Boat.   :o Overall we had a good time; missed more fish than we caught  :-\, but that's the story of my life.  The water temp was in the low 70's and muddy on the LA side/ clear on the TX side.  All of our fish came from Bird Island/Death Hole area.

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and you'll never see him again!

Gabby

That Banana Boat is your ticket, isn't it!!!  Aren't you glad you recovered it?  I'm ready for some Caddo, brother!

casso

Went up to Caddo the other evening and caught a 4 overs. One came on a senko, one on a lizard, one on a pop r, and one on a brush hog. All but one came from pretty clear water in Texas about 4 ft deep. Also caught a few really nice red ears on a brush hog. I'm going to try and head up there this weekend, I'll let you know how I do.

GEO

Hey buddy Rhonda and I are heading out that way tomorrow also.  Going to try and locate some fish for our tourney next weekend.  Appreciate the info.  Sounds like they weren't just wanting one bait.  Did you try throwing a white fluke at all?
geo

casso

Geo-

Tried a fluke a little, but did't stick with it for long. It was getting dark and I wanted to cover more water. I sent you a message w/ more details.

Went today(Sat.) we caught a few one over most in the slot ( buzzbait and blades)
If it rains we get wet !!!!  Yank'em out and weigh'em in.

GEO

fished our Blanchard tournament Saturday and only managed to catch two small fish  that only weighed 2.38 pounds and took forth in the tournament.  This wil tell you how hard the fishing was.  Sam won the tournament with two fish big bass 6.58 and a total of 9.74 on crankbaits.  I tried everyhing out there including prefishing on Friday and didn't catch that many.  But there was another tournament out there Sat. and big bass for that tournament was 11.9 with a total sack of 24 and cahnge.  So somebody knows where they are.

Fished Caddo for a few hours yesterday evening. It wasn't what I was hoping for. Caught one slot bass on a baby brush hog. Couldn't get them to touch anything when the sun was going down. I was regretting going to the river and not Caddo Sat but sounds like I made the right decision.

Railroader

Terrry and I fished yesterday out of tuckers. had 8 all together. all came on buzzbait- spinnerbait. went up on karnack to give a try, current is still there but did catch two on buzz next to the bank. but the rest came on the big lake.

Are the pads getting pretty thick in the river? and what about the grass at Tuckers?

Yes pads are there we fished in the boat row and the trees close to it, we tried pine island pond on the river with no takers. I went wednesday morn.. had 4 one up in jeems 3 infront of whatley, grass is thick there but some where moving around all on senko.. bait of choice.had two under one 19in one was 3.2lb on my scale but was only 17 3/4 long was upsetting but glad to catch some, gives us some ideas..

Went out to caddo on the Louisiana side.  Launched by the draw bridge at the public launch.  Was slow at first around 4 or so.  Between 5 and 7 we caught 5.  Caught 2 dinks and two just below the slot.  Caught one more that was a slot fish.  All were caught off wacky rigged worms.  The slot was caught on a 5" neon green worm, and the others were all caught on 5" dark green speckled worms with some sort of salt injection.   All but one was caught in and around the cypress trees in about 2-3 foot of water.  First time using the wacky rig, but needless to say, I have found something I like.

Chris

I agree .. I like to wacky rig a senko though. Actually ,I use the Kinami version, mostly the junebug color and sometimes watermelon... This is deadly against trees, docks, and vegetation. There is a drawback though...They last one or two fish and thats usually it ...

BIG PAPA

Buy the little rubber o-rings at a hardware store.
take the bottom off of a ballpoint pen, roll the o-ring over the ball point bottom, insert the sinko and roll the o-ring onto the sinko. insert the hook under the o-ring. I often catch 6-10 bass on one sinko. :-X

Chris

papa, that would have been nice to know before now. I think Ive been through a couple of hundred packages of those things.... ;D

Red Ranger

Where is Tucker's on Caddo?  I've seen it mentioned alot in the reports on Caddo.
