Yea but a pond boat barely fits in a truck bed, actually only a few models do. Remember I will have a trailer (RV) attached as well. I need the bed for a tool box and generator and stuff as well. So a boat that fills it all up is not really an option.

I looked at them, but at the weight and barely fit ting my 8' bed. Lots of stable and light enough to toss on top a ladder rack kayaks out there.

Now just which one do I want... lol

I will probably get a Pescador Pilot 120 or a Nucanoe Frontier 10' and a TM.
That's why I asked you about it last week. When you said you wanted one for travel,  I knew that a yak was probably the better option.  Good luck on your decision, whatever you end up with

Thanks for the support guys. I had to work some yesterday which probably was not a good idea. But the boss can't call in sick on payday. I'm feeling better this morning but I think the triton is going to stay on the trailer this weekend...

Don't forget you have a bumper on the back of the rv. I've seen all kinds of of things on brackets on them. My dad even extended the tongue on his to haul his motorcycle between the rv and truck.

My suggestion is to pick the fishing platform you want and then let us engineering nerds help you figure out a way to haul it.

Great write up on small boats Tress, and the very reasons you gave is why I want a pond hopper style instead of a kayak style. My daughter has 2 yaks I could borrow if I want to, I just don't want to be that close to the gators I've spotted over the years nor do I want the possibility of tipping it over and loosing all my stuff.

I have a plan for a trolley in my head once I get the boat for hauling where the water is not real close, but like you said you can drag them some distance fairly easy.

My brother has had a 10 ft Coleman Crawdad for years and he has had him and one of his friend in it. They both are approaching the 300 lb range, so those little boats hold up well.

West like Lee said it wouldn't be to hard to make a holder for on the back to handle whatever you want to put there.

Best is buy what YOU want and will be happy with. Heck maybe you'll keep it longer than a year and beat all you other boats life span you've had! LOL. Just kidding. You have had a couple of great boats though.

Speaking of the Pond Hopper type of boats, Bass Pro used to make the Bass Tracker Bantam. I saved up my paper route money when I was a kid and ordered the one man model. A few weeks later UPS showed up at the door with a giant box. Boy I loved that thing! My buddy got the 2 man model. He put a piece of plywood in the slot that the seats sat in, carpeted it and added a pedestal! That set up was awesome! The only downside was having more to carry or drag to the water. We took those boats everywhere in S FL. Even fished Holiday Park a few times. The bass boats would buzz by us and throw a wake. We never got close to going over. We just kept on fishing!

West,
If you can swing it, I would get a 12' of whatever brand/model you decide.

The truck is just over 20' long lol. So I can get a huge kayak. I thought about a Jon boat or pond boat for a while. I had my 12' v hull for about 3 years and tossed it out and fished all kinds of places with no trailer or assistance. That was with the shorter bed on the Titan. But I need the truck bed space. I thought about putting a ladder rack and winch system to haul one on top as well.

Lee our RV doesn't have a bumper. I thought about welding one on to carry something as well. But honestly I want the boat on the truck so if I want to fish. I can drop the RV at the spot and drive wherever I want with the truck and toss the boat out anywhere there is water. I guess I could drop the RV, unload the boat and load it into the truck. But that sounds like a PITA and I am lazy lololol. It is a great idea though.

We might also get a scooter, and if we do I will probably haul that on the RV bumper.

Hey Fred,
I made my dolly out of 2  20" bike wheels with freestyle foot pegs and a 4' piece of pipe. It works great, is very light, and the large wheels roll over anything. I'll post some pics.

That's a sweet little setup you got there. You can get into all sorts of back waters with that thing.

Nice present West!
Happy Birthday!

Nice set-up. That trolley is along the lines of what I have in my head. I saw one done similar with 2 hard rubber wheels (no air needed) and a 2x4 for a cross brace.

I had a 12 ft glass shell boat with a trailer and a TM I welded an aluminum mount for so I could put it on the front as my first boat. I sold it after buying my next bigger boat. Man I wish I still had that boat. it weighed nothing and was set like an aluminum V boat with 2 cross stringers for seats and the middle one had an open space you could use for a livewell.

Paid $500 for it and sold it for $700 after using it for 2 years.

I really like yours and that is what I'm looking for. So many little lakes I've found that you can't get a "normal" boat into that one of those would be perfect for.

West6550

Found a used Nucanoe in Mims. Gonna drive over and check it out Friday. It was bought new in February. Has lots of extras as well. As long as it floats and isn't in terrible shape, I will probably get it. I am not a fan of the color though. Lime green..ish.

Deadeye

Hey at least you'll be easy to see on the water!

West that might work for you and looks like a nice small fishing platform. I guess you could learn to live with the color over time.  ;D

This is really about exactly what I want. Grew up fishing from one in my grandpa's pond.
Is it car toppable, and can you stand in it? The one grandaddy had was a short little thing and not quite stable enough to stand in.

Gheenoe's have always caught my eye, you can stand on them and get into some really skinny water. The model below is a 13 footer.

Same model.
