I paddled around the house when I got home and fished for about 25 mins or so.

It is smooth and just moves right along. It is surprisingly easy to paddle. It is stable enough for me to stand up at 41". Not as stable as my last boat lol but it will work. I am sure I will get used to it as well.

I can already see my fishing style changing. I will be fishing much slower as you can't fish and paddle. It is more like a dock lol, move fish here and repeat.

I am sure that to will improve. Off to steak and a local band!
When I would float tube in CA, I would trail a fluke behind me on another pole while kicking over to the next spot. Caught a few that way, maybe it will work in the yak

No foot pedals on this one? That would have been a big +! That way you don't need a paddle.

No, I can buy them. But I can buy a 2.5hp outboard or a TM and battery for cheaper. Make sense of that lol.

Thats insane! lol

I can't believe that will hold an outboard though. That's awesome!

You could go even cheaper though. You can get a Newport Vessel TM. A saltwater TM 86lb thrust for 379

edit: Actually you would probably have to go down to the 62 otherwise you would need 2 batteries.

Very nice West! I guess the more you use it the easier it'll become.
Thanks for the report. Give us another report after a few days.

I looked and compared the Minnkota and Motorguide yesterday at BPS.

I will be gong with the Motorguide since it has metal components for everything compared to plastic parts on the Minnkota.. same price as well.

I will rewire and cut the shafts down for the TM.

The main reason for this is the digital control instead of 5 forward, 3 back. The digital uses less battery and if I need to really slow down with the TM I can with digital control.

Less battery use, means I can carry a little but smaller battery as well :-)

Thanks for the links Rick. I checked them out. If it had a digital controller I would be down for it for sure!

Been busy planning solar for the RV. I am off tomorrow and will try and take a few more pics of the new kayak. It came with some goodies as well
