Yep, passed me twice. Polish, new carpet? You had the best looking boat out there. I'm going to have to clean mine out big time after I boated the Goo and the cypress bass. That stupid cypress bass made a mess.

I would like to piggy back what Rattle said. The sponsors for this event were great and donated some really nice products. Also Rattle AWESOME job I know from experience that putting on a tournament can be very time consuming and you did a fabulous job.

Big Cudos to the whole Lock Jaw bass club, they are some of the nicest, funniest, enjoyable, drink a lot of beer folks you will every meet. They welcomed us with open ice chests and the comrodarie we excellent.

Both dinners were incredable...... Man do they know how to cook down there in south La.

Brush Hawg - Yes the fishing was tough but lets look at this - Huricane IVAN...... yeah no body exspected that... You make it sound like we smoked you all, all in all it was a very close tournament. But for us that was just icing, the cake was getting to shake your hands and drink a beer with all of you all.

I forgot about those, I tell you want that river sure does have a variety of fish in it. Problem being they all were bitting except the bass. I know I wasn't the only one to catch a goggle eye on a jig....

Well thank you for saying I had the best looking boat there but you didn't get to close to it then :o scratches busted windshield, tore carpet.... it goes on and on. I personally thought your javilin looked great  8)

Mike don't short yourself or the rest of the guys out there yall did an excellent job of catching the few fish that bit. For yall to come down here and fish on a river that has an unbelievable amount of shore line and tributaries and beat the home team is pretty darn good. I have fished this river for years and to this day i stillthink I should catch a fish on every cast, I really don't think there is a bad looking spot.
Ardent Prostaff

Mike Cork

Oh no there isn't a bad looking spot on that river. It was amazing, they hole place looks like it should produce. I can honestly say that I thought I should get bit on every cast, oh except those back lashes  ;D

Got to hit the rack, long days of fishing have wore me out. And Laurie wants to go tomorrow, don't you just hate that  ;D

See you all in the morning in the thread "The Board comes alive" with my cup of coffee in hand....

I just wanted to weight in my big Red fish that I caught on a spinner bait Sat. and all those huge goggle eye's that tore up the plastic's, they made you stay ready all the time! And then there was the big mis-take that I did, ~b~ ~b~ ~b~, you always heard about the big ine that got away, well, Merila never believed that story, until Sat. mid-day, when we were in a cove and I hung a nice 4 lb. bass, got him next to the boat, didn't wait for her to get the net, in the excitment, I was going to just flip it in the boat, and then it flipped and bye-bye baby! :'( :'( :'(  At least she did get to see it her-self and knowsthat it was real.
Oh well, another day!!!!
Check out the Quick Quarter this week, there will be a great "DEAL" on a complete package rig with a new 50qt. Coleman Ice Chest for sale, Cheap!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :'(

Do I smell a new Nitro on the way?????

Hey Richoos, don't get so down about that fish, I am here to tell you it won't be the last that gets away. If we caught them all we would call it catching not fishing. I dumped two fish Sunday, thankfully we didn't need them as a team, I was reallly heartbroke at first. But if you let that get to you the rest of the day is going to be tough. Shake it off and keep pluging away.....

Mike it was probably two flounders that got off anyway. lo I would have love to seen your face when you caught the first one.
Ardent Prostaff

Mike Cork

Yeah your right, at least thats what I keep telling myself. There is no way those were bass, it's easier to swallow that way.

Our face on the first one  :shocking: along with a few statements like Laurie "what in the h-ell is that" Mike "a flounder" Laurie "WHAT" Mike "I think it is a flounder" Laurie "do they have teeth" Mike "I don't know but you caught it YOU find out"

That is funny. lo lo If you have never seen one it would definitely cause some concern, like is this a poluted lake and is that fish a bi-product.
Ardent Prostaff

Mike Cork

ROFLMAO - yeah it did cause some concern. I just didn't know how to grab it. I have learned here in Louisiana that some of these fish have extra protective or defense devices and I didn't want to get bit or injected with something  ;D

I am the treasure of the lockjaw bass club and i just wanted to say that everything went as planned and i hope everyone got their money's worth in fun and fishing experience.

Jared LeBlue

They do have teeth but you are safe to grab the body if you can figure out how. Last year my wife bought me " The Glove", that thing is the best. When you get a nasty fish just slip it on and it makes for easy handling. I had to use it on that cypress trout Saturday.
Ardent Prostaff

Jared LeBlue

Coach you should still be in the system. If you forgot your password get with Laurie ( send her a personal message) and she will walk you back through it.
Ardent Prostaff

Mike Cork

Coach, I know I did and I don't see how anyone couldn't have you all did a great job. My concern was that you all didn't break even. In the future I think it would be cool if the host club used it as a fund raiser. I.E. you could charge a couple bucks over the actual cost. Anyway Major KUDOS to the Lock Jaw Bass Club.....

Rattle, that flounder we put in the live well sure was tough to get out. When that thing laid on the bottom you couldn't even get a finger nail under it. I had to push it until it tried to swim then catch it. I think you all told me to keep it just to watch me try and get it out of the live well  lo

I wish we could have this before football season starts next year.

Mike Cork

Coach, with enough time to plan I think we should be able to. I know we tried to beat the hunting season this year. The original game plan was to do it before school starts. We might otta shoot for that this next summer. I think it would bring more folks as they don't have to worry about what to do with the kids, just bring um...

Now I wouldn't do that. :{_ That is probably one of the best eating fish out there. If you would have kept them, stuffed them and ate em you would be a flounder fishing fool.

I just wanted to take a moment to thank Rattle & all the members of the Lockjaw Bass Club for putting on a great weekend of fishing, food, & fun. Fishing was really tough but I can honestly say I would have still had a good time if I hadn't caught any fish.

Everything was excellent & planned out perfectly! It was great to actually put faces to screennames and actually meet everyone.I am definately looking forward to next year!

bassadict69

Oh Yeah...

Congratulations to OUR teams that took the trophies!!! Papa & Trey, Mike & Laurie, & Bo & his partner (forgive me...I am terrible with names).

:-* :-* Laurie, Maybe you can get a discount on the engraving of the tag on the trophy if you go ahead & get the 2005 tag made also!  ;D

Brush Hawg

Rattle getting drunk worked for me and Jimmy.  We zeroed out the first day and I have tried to figured why we did better on Sunday. It comes down to a hangover and upset stomachs slowing down our presentation for the finicky bite.  If we'd got fubared Friday we probably would have placed.  Think that's our strategy for next year. 8) >:D

There might be some truth to that. I was hung over Saturday and did better that day. I felt fine Sunday and only boated two small fish.  ??? Of course my partner was swearing off the alcohol Sunday. You know the famous words " That's it I'm never drinking again ". Likie with most people I'm sure that will last about a week. ;D
Ardent Prostaff

I think most of us had a bit of a hang over or were at least a bit slower for lack of sleep the night before on Saturday but what would a gathering be if there were not a little bit of beer and great conversation until the weeee hours of the morning?
