Well if I go by what I heard today at Lake Charles Tackle, I should be able to tie on a blindfold, pick a bait out of my box, and catch fish on it.  I heard all kind of stories today so it should be an interesting weekend. Looks like we might have some cooler weather this weekend at least I hope so.

Me too, Fall just seems like it is never going to get here. 90 plus is just a tad warm for mid Sept. even around here. I must say that I had to put on my frog togg pants yesterday morning for the first run, so at least the nights are cooling down a bit. Whats the rain forcast looking like? And if it rains what can we typically expect the fish to do?

Lafayette is saying that there's a good chance for weekend rain, how much, I don't know yet, but will post if I heard anything! Hope Rattle can give us some more details before leaving this week to go over.

I can say one thing, its a very pretty place and a super nice river to fish!

They are calling for a slight chance Thursday and Friday. Any rain will help, at least that's what I believe. We haven't had any rain in the past month so some fresh water would probably be good. The river is pretty clear right now so that's good.

No, we haven't.  Weekend before last we went to Henderson and this weekend the storm damage offshore has me buzzing. I put in 46 hours just this weekend chasing crews and equipment!

But here's the report as told from my wife between the Calcasiue & Henderson! Ready, here goes, "I can't believe that we are fishing in a mud hole here, it was so much prettier & clean at Calcasiue, how on earth can the fish see how to kill a lure here in Henderson, no wonder, they kill the buzz bait, they can't see nothing else, I will be so glad to go fish the Calcasiue again, even if we don't get on fish, just the clear water and sights is worth it all!" 

Hope we have some luck this weekend fishing blind, and I think a little fresh water will only help things out a little!

Rickoos, Laurie myself Papa and Trey are all going down on Thurdays and will prefish that evening and Friday so hopefully we will get something going. When you get there we will let you in on the secrets!!!! Looking forward to having you on the winning team. When are you going to be able to get there?

we should be there around 9:00 am and launch and start riding and looking, I have your cell phone, so once we get going I will buzz you!

I have one question, do you think I can leave my boat at the cabins at night with the battery changer going instead of hauling it into town every night? We just don't know the area yet around the Day's Inn, how safe it will be leaving the boat open, if it were a number of us, I wounldn't think nothing of it, but just one of us, who knows?

If there is room, most definately you can leave it with us and if there is not enough room then we will figure it out. You are definately right, a single boat all by it's self says two things, first I am out of town and second less people are watching because I am by myself. SO plan on keeping it with us. You might consider staying at the cabins with us, we have plenty of room.

There is plenty of room around the cabins to park your boats.  Just bring exension cords and you are in business.

The closest tide chart I found was for Calcasieu Pass. Do any time adjustments need to be done for it to be accurate?

Rattle, that was "Cold!" I think my new Northern buddies will help me out! Just watch out for that buzz bait, I heard it can get real wild sometimes!!!!!!!!

I guess that Wildcat & myself will be dragging up the rear with our Pro 175's, but that's OK, good things come to those who have to wait!  I know this one spot not far from the state that I'm going to hit first, after all the boat traffic is gone! It was good last time, so maybe this time it will pay off too!

Dragging up the rear? Don't cut yourself short that Pro 175 is a nice boat and will get you anywhere you need to be on that river. One thing I miss about my smaller boat is the fuel economy. I could run around all day long and not burn a tank of gas, believe me that's not the case with my new boat.

Wildcat, You won't be alone at the back of the pack, I am sure I'll be right there also. My boat is really slow compared to most.

Like Rattle said though, our boats will get us anywhere we want to go...It just might take us alittle longer to get there!

We might be the last ones to get there, but, I bet that we will be the first ones to leave headed back to the weight in with our "BASS"!!!!!!!!! Heck, we might even beat them back to the weight in!!!!!!

Rattle, you do have something there with the fuel, I can remembering when that 2.5 Mer would suck the bottom out of the boat when I had it, but now, we should be able to fish all weekend long on 1 tank and still have fuel left over! It will just take us longer to get there.....
