My family lives in Atmore, just a few miles from Perdido, and I lived across the creek from you in Nokomis, maybe 5 miles?  Man, it's a small world sometimes! That bridge is the Ala. Point bridge, and about that time in 85 thur 96, I would fish it a lot, espically when the blue's were running. We would go down, spent the night and cook what we caught on the camping stove. A new meaning for tail-gating!

So far, everyone  is OK, with no damage, just everyone lost all their trees, I just haven't been able to get hold of my daughter yet, she lives just across the Ala. line in Walnut Hill, Fla. Hoping to hear from her today...

Rickoo's, I hope she is allright...And I am glad that all the others are fine...I still have cousins down there. I went to high school at Baldwin County High for a short while...as a matter of fact here's one for ya.. I used to drive to Atmore to get parts for auto's at the parts house on the right as you get into town.. I did notice the last time I was down there ('97) that the Indian Bingo hall was still open...Yep, small world....Do you know where King's corner is at???........Dave

King's corner? I'm not sure of that. I know where Jackson's service station was and big "downtown" Perdido next to the railroad tracks. I finished school in Atmore in 75, started working offshore here in La. in 78, so I was away from home a lot. After 2 wrecks, I meet a cajun woman"a real cajun woman", in 98 here in Lafayette, and the rest is history.( Plus I got to learn a lot of cajun french words) We still go to Ala. about once every other month to visit mom and family, but there's never enough time to just drive around and visit old friends!

I'm pretty sure they do, I know the have them in the picnic areas. If you are planning on Bar-b-queing one of the nights get what you need, if for some reason they don't have a pit I will bring one from my house for yall.

Ah!!!! Now I get to clarify, I didn't live on the south side of I-65, I lived on the north side. There was a service station and a cafe, both of which was owned by D.C. Harville. As a matter of fact I could hear the Interstate from the house. Well if nothing else welcome to La from La, You know Louisiana from Lower Alabama...............Dave

I know were you are talking about for sure, sometimes we would stop there on our club tournmrnt going to Live Oak landing, during that time I fished with a Atmore & BayMitte bass club, plus I was runnig the Bass Pro Shop on Hand Ave. in BayMitte.........

It's really a small world............

I can't have off next Thursday too  , but I may be able to leave a little early...

I finally talked with Bo, we reserved the cabin that was empty Thursday night. He said it is cabin 1 which is the cabin he has for friday & saturday, so evidently the cork/noble gang is in #2.

I hope to leave out of town by 5:oo Thursday evening. The park said they lock the gate at 9:00 so that will be another dilemna to figure out how to get in after the park closes  . They said they couldn't give out the combination over the phone, so maybe they will give it to someone that is already there and you can come let us in...

Bassadict just call Laurie or one of the gang when you get close to the park and they can let you in. They give veryone who is camping the combination when they get there.

Bayminnette has a BassPro? Man has it changed down there....The last time I was there, I did notice a lot of construction..Down by the Delchamps that is...I remember when the Mcdonalds was the best thing going.........Hey Ricky we need to fish sometime, how about the next Annual Tournament?...........Dave

You may have a deal, buddy!  All I will have to do is as my boss & partner.. But I think she will let me go for sure!

We had the Bass Pro Shop there for 6 years and then one of my early wrecks took care of it for me!!!!! You know, the big "D"! The shop was Called The Delta Sports Shop on Hand Ave just before Colverleaf's old bait shop on Hand ave.
There was also a boat dealership next to us, Mike Kipper's old place, I think Mike was from Moible area.

I look forward to coming up and fish with you, buddy! Shoot, we might end up being some of those Ala. red neck cousin's, you never know!

Don't you love when you type something and then lose it. Let me try again. I'm all ready for next weekend. I got the camper ready and got all my rods set up. Going put new tires on the boat this week and fill it up with gas. The only thing I haven't got to do is prefish so I will wing it this weekend.

I am not ready at all but I am dragging out the camping box this evening to go thru it to make sure we ahve all the necessary items for breakfast and cooking and of course the party after the tournament 

Ya'll it will be Mike's B-Day the Wed following the tournament so we will be doing a little celebrating. I am sure that he would like me to just let it go by quietly but I wouldn't be a good wife if I did that...

Laurie, it wasn't the board's fault that I lost the post, I hit the wrong button and tried to get back but it was too late I lost it. It was all me, it had nothing to do with the board. Mike's birthday? That means we have to celebrate even more. I'll add another 12 pack to the list.

I usually try to surprise him but it never seems to turn out the way I want it to so I figure this year we will celebrate down there and he will just know in advance that we are going to have a good time

Last week we had record high temperatures in Lake Charles(98) most of the week.  We have not had any rain for weeks so the river is low and clear.  Weather is suppose to be cooler this week, in the upper 80,s.  Not sure what kind of pattern the fish will be on.

They will be on a suspended pattern in about 18 inches to 2 ft of water , and they will be staging left or right.  Of course I talking about the fish that will be in my livewell.
