I know a wife (not mine...don't have one) that goes and sleeps in the truck until mid morning...but I won't name any names because she has TREMENDOUS power on this board....  >:D

Guys I have an idea. I can launch out of Dundee (north of Baltimore) about 1PM and run to Middle River, about 15 minutes run. Middle River is full of marinias. Fish the docks for about 2-3 hours and then take her to the waterfront seafood restaurant there. Then fish another 2 hours and call it a day. This way it breaks it up and maybe I can get her hooked on fishing.

Let's see Who might that be? ;)

Crazybass it's worth a try. My wife has fished with me in several tournaments and I loved her company in the boat. I'm hoping she gets more into it. She says she enjoys it because she gets to spend time with me and she has time away from the kids. Once my kids get a little older it will be easier to plan trips with her. Now she did say she wasn't fishing another night tournament at Toledo Bend, especially if there is any bad weather in the forecast.

Rattle,
I can't say that I don't blame her either, something about Toledo Bend, night fishing in the dark,(guess it is dark when you night fish), big water, and weather that scares me too!
Plus all those citters! ;D

You get on Toledo Bend when the wind is blowing about 25 miles an hour and I promise it will scare you to death. Add darkness to that factor and it could land you in divorce court.

Rattle,

I had fished Toledo in the La. Oilmen's Classic a couple of times, so on our 1st annvisertaty we  went to Toledo and got a Cabin at WildWood Resort and fished out of there, I had just got my Tracker 175 Pro/ w 75 mercury, so we went out of wildwood, run down the lake, fished, and then it happen, a very fast moving thunderstorm blew in, talk about rough, good thing I had fished big water before, Eufalua, Semilone, Logan Martin, I kind of knew how to run the seas. I guess the fear in my eyes saved me from Divorce court that weekend, but bass fishing 101 was taught the rest of the trip, now we laught about it! Well, sometimes we do, at least I do! aa
I had done it in much larger boats, but never i a 17-6" tracker, it was a tale to tale later on for sure!

That lake is nothing nice when a storm blows in and believe me there has been some big rigs sunk out there. I have learned to respect that lake when it comes to storms.

Well, it now seems that I need a partner for the Lake Charles trip.  Jeff is not going to be able to make it.  Papa, have you had any luck talking Daniel into going.  I don't have a problem going it alone if no one else is planning on going.

when is the tourney??  i would be interested in going if it is not a weekend that i have gracie and maggie.  holler back and let me know so i can take a look at it.  have a good one.  and as long as we don't listen to ls-who football on the way down there, i am cool.  by the way--ls-who does not have a q-back this year.  they are in for a long season.  my guess, 7-5. ;D ;D ;D

shot me a reply and let me know.

The tournament is Saturday and Sunday, September 25-26, on the Calcasieu River just north of Lake Charles.  I'm going down on Thursday, Sept. 23, to look around.  We are staying in cabins at a state park.

I will say that I am not a "die-hard" LSU fan.  If they win...good, if they lose...not a big deal.  Fishing is MUCH more important than any ballgame.  I prefer to fish ANYTIME.

Rattle, I understand that the love bugs are out in full force in your area.  You have just over 2 weeks to get them out of there.  Buy bug spray, kill as many as you can with your vehicle, or get some giant fans and blow them to Texas.  We don't want to come with the love bugs decorating the front of cars and trucks.

Actually Mike they are not out in full force yet. Hopefully we are just having a mild season but we will know for sure in about a week. If they get as bad as they did last year be prepared for a long trip. Put your travel cover on your boat and wax the front end of your truck. Here's a tip, buy some fabric softerner sheets and keep them in your truck. At the end of the day spray down the front of you truck with water and wipe it down with the fabric softerner sheet. It pulls them little B******s right off. It is the best thing I have found yet for lovebugs.

 ~off~

I know that this is a little off topic from ya'lls tactics but I was wondering if all the guys that are going down South would post or PM me to confirm that they are going. I believe that Mike Noble has directions if you need them you can PM him and he will send them to you.

Mike and I will be leaving on Thursday, Mike Noble, and I think Papa and Son are also leaving on Thursday. Please let me know if and when you will be leaving...

I'll know for sure tomorrow if I'll be going. My boss was supposed to let me know today if I could have off the 24th, but he isn't here today (he better not be fishing!!) so I'll find out tomorrow! It shouldn't be a problem.

I guess I need to figure out where we (me & Shawn) will be sleeping. Do we need to find a hotel nearby? Pitching a tent may be an option too if necessary!

Mike Noble

We should have enough cabin space.  Bring an airmattress...tie it to the dock...sleep on the water.  ;D

I looked back in the posts...all the way to about page 19 of this topic and I found that the cabins sleep 8, beds for 6.  So I assume there is floor space for 2 others.
