Where are you going to launch at? I can see my plans changing every minute of the day. Just found out that I have 2 crews coming in late Fri. night or early Sat. morning, so I may be a little late getting to the landing, so I will have to look for you on the water!

I should know more by mid-afternoon tomorrow.

Hey Dundee Mike why do I have to be the darn Yankee? It's going to be a long ride to the famly reunion. Is cousin Elmer P. and cousin Dan comming with us? Make sure you wear you Gray trap door longjohns. The last time we fished together near the toulies do you remember the snake that attached my bait? How you reacted when I pulled the snake towards the boat? I'm sure they have plenty of snakes and nasty swimming creatures down there (unless they recently had a cookout) You will need the trap door!!!

It is a boat...smaller than a canoe...you do know what a canoe is, right?  No motor, just paddles.  Flat bottom, very narrow, DON'T STAND UP IN ONE, and glides across the water.

When you launch at parkside you have about 1/4 a mile of no wake in Indian Bayou before you reach the West Fork.  When you reach West fork the right is up the Fork to Sam Houston park and beyond.  Left under the bridge is towards the main river about three miles away.

From the bridge to the main river there are a lot docks that are good fishing at times.

You will know when you hit the main river. To the right is the salt water dam and the left is up river for many  many miles.  A mile or two up you will come to a big split. The Engish Bayou is straight ahead and the river takes a 90 degree turn to the left.  Another few miles you will go under the Hwy 171 bridge.  Above it are bays on both sides of the river.  If the waterway dead ends or starts getting real narrow you are in a bay turn around and try the other arm.

Mike, I know when I'm in trouble at home when the cajun french talk starts, I might not be a very smart guy, but it didn't take long for me to learn a few of them there french cajun words meant, specially after a few nods on the head!    Yes sir, this ole Alabama boy learns very fast & got the ears of superman now!
