Bass fishing during the day is tough. 3 hours of day fishing only got me 18 bass with no keepers. All 18 came off the same deep water dock end. How do you catch 18 bass off one dock end. Each bass goes into live well. Bass give off a scent when they struggle. This signals other bass to stop feeding. Land the bass quickly and get it out of the water before the scent warms the other bass. If you put the bass back immediately, the bite will die. 2 hours of evening fishing netted 3 good keeper bass. Overall, the fishing around holidays is very slow. Crappie are off the bluff ends at 12-14 ft.. Lots of small keepers but few good crappie. Catfish are good. Channels are good on dough bait and stink bait. Flatheads are good on live shad.  Blues are very good on cut shad or skipjack suspended 8-10 ft.above the bottom. Blue cats are highly prized and taste the best.
Through the rest of the hot weather, bass fishing will concentrate on brush and rock piles. There will be good bass caught but the biggest will be with the offshore shad schools--if you're brave enough to share mid channel with the cruisers.

 I feel for anyone trying to fish out in the main lake during the weekend. Watched a youtube video from ozark angler yesterday. He was fishing a main lake point and had a boat cut between him and the point and the boats prop caught his line. Almost yanked the rod out his hand.
