This has got to be one of the prettiest bass I've seen down here in person. All our bass are usually just one color or gradient shades of that one color. This guys got personality!  lol  ~bb

And a good size too.

Beautiful coloration for sure.  Size?? I wouldn't categorize 12.5" as being too big especially with the competition around here...  lo  ~beer~

Oops, I forgot the .
Although, with how bad the fishing has been lately, anything is good.

Will do!

Thanks Rick and Lou. The only thing that keeps me from competing each month is that I don't get to go fishing as much as many of you. It only takes 5 though to take down the Mike Tyson of the BR competition. Look out Tres!!! Lol

Many of us are on the same boat (No pun intended) when it comes to fishing days Flats. :) But like you said. It only takes 5.

Went out to the park today and tried to force feed them a frog. Conditions seemed right. Overcast, temps cooled and bluegill were popping. But the bass weren't biting. Tried a worm for a while and not a bite.
Was going to leave the park with a skunk. But I decided I would try the other lake that hadn't yielded any fish for me in a while. Made a few casts into grass and caught one. Then a few more and caught another but lost it. The one I lost was smaller so I didn't care much. Quick release.

But I said to the skunk, "skunk, one of these days you'll get me again, but not this day!!!"

Had my closest encounter yet with a swamp lizard. I was fishing Lang Lake today, trolling slowly in 4' of water, flipping vegetation along a shoreline. Suddenly, right behind my boat, like 3' away a huge splash and thrash happened. I knew it was a gator, so I kicked into high gear in the direction I was going. Looked back, and there was an absolute giant - solid 12' - swimming away. I had actually gone right over the top of it. Glad it didn't spook right when I was on top of it, as it could easily have tossed me and my gear overboard. Adrenaline rush for sure.
The fishing, btw, was slow. Caught 4, one that was the same size as my smallest fish, so, no pics. Got them flipping hydrilla, except the first fish, which hit a horny toad on top of a hydrilla mat.

Swede

Nice to see a few of you out in the July heat attaching a few bass to your hooks. After a busy 3-4 weekends I put my boat in the garage the last couple weekends and got caught up on the honey-do list. Next weekend to the river - in this heat hoping the current will help my cause. Any of you watch Major League Fishing and if so have you purchased a membership to www.myoutdoortv.com so you can watch all the episodes from the past?

I've found it interesting the minor changes to the show they have made along the way to keep it interesting. I think we would all become better fishermen if we had the opportunity to fish the same format. Intense!
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, your worries stay small.

Gotta be careful with those Dinosaurs. They can get rowdy. Lol

Swede hope you do well on the river!

I subscribe to myoutdoortv. It's decent they got a lot of shows not just MLF which is cool. As far as MLF I like how they got that selects cup deal with the anglers that weren't the originals and how they have that point system to get them into the main event. Gives some of the other fellas on the tour a chance and even the selects is tough competition.
I've got a few guys I go for. I always have Shaw Grigsby at the top but he just never makes it lol.

The subscription service isn't bad. I've had a few "error disconnects" but it's not a huge deal.
What I don't like is if you close the browser it doesn't remember where you left off. It starts your show from the beginning. It also doesn't track what episodes you've already watched which always throws me for a loop cause I may go a week or 2 without watching an episode and when I get back to it I can't remember which I'm on.
Good quality streams though.

It's got different plans. They have a 9.99 a month plan and also a yearly plan I think that's 99. Not sure if they have an inbetween.

I know they do have a free trial, and I took advantage of a 1.00 month deal also that MLF was offering for the first month.
I am not sure I only access it through the internet myself. I don't watch any "TV". Everything I watch is through my computer.

Yup just like any streaming service. You click on the bar and it takes you forward or backwards.
