Mini-report.
Lake Tarpon 7am-noon. Air temp.
81-91F. Water temp 87-88F. Wind WSW 3-5mph. Scattered clouds. Water level a little high with water milky from all the rain. Started with a frog in an area with eel grass and hydrilla. Couple of blow ups but no hook up. Switch to an easy swimmer in a area with Lily pads and hydrilla. Caught my only one on about the 3rd cast. Started pitching buggy whips and bullrushes after sun cleared the trees, nothing. Moved offshore to known hydrilla and shellbeds with trickworm and DT10, nothing. Called it a day when thermometer hit 91.

Highlight of the day was having a Osprey dive bomb my swimbait. Had it in his talon for a minute. Glad it let go.

If you are catching fish it's a lot more bearable. No clouds, no wind, and no fish sux.

It's rough out there Barry! It's hot like no tomorrow.

I'm gonna try some stuff today at the canal and see if I can't come up with some fish.

Then you wouldn't be doing much of anything in the South during July & August.

I think Fred was talking about the heat.

But with a heat index of 118 and being outside fishing all day you kind of start to smell like a skunk. You know it's bad when you can smell yourself and have a hard time tolerating it lol.

Happy 4th Guys!

Lip that's all right, I don't understand about half of what you write anyways.

But Rick and Lou is correct, after 6-8 hours of fishing out on the water with no shade and the sun beating down on you, you CAN start to smell yourself.
