I didn't ask for Lake condition specifics Barry. But it sounds like you know a bit about this. What water levels are considered high, low, and average on Lake Kissimmee? I have come across 54 ft a few times and it sounds like that's not ideal. I'm used to reading Lake O levels and the two lakes use a different level of numbers to describe high and low water.

I've never kept up with the actual #s. I think they measure water surface elevation above sea level. In the areas I normally fish, which is mostly the northern parts, I like a little water flow from the Kissimmee River and Tiger Creek. Others like it lower because it brings them out of the really thick stuff. The river is up 5 feet in the past week down around where it passes Istapoka towards Okeechobee..

FD

Kissimmee is 3 feet above where it should be right now. Toho is two feet above and shingle creek set a new flood stage record this week and is still higher than the old record.   They probably have the Southport lock wide open trying to keep the south side of Orlando from flooding.

Translation:  Barry is right, we will probably be able to catch a lot of smaller running water fish but big ones might be a different story.

Just a suggestion for whats its worth.  With all these storms, high water, super hot weather, hot water temps, and everything you had to overcome for the last two years.  Next year put the classic off until the winter months.  Cool winter fishing, bedding big bass!!!!! :-*

Most places we would have it only rent by the week or month from November to April.

Man I'll tell you what, the classic in March or April should be awesome!
But if they only rent for a week or a month, there is only one logical solution. We make the classic a week long event! BAM! Minds blown!  ~1

For years we rented for several days in Lakeport, or Buckhead and fished the west side of Okeechobee in January and February. We did that for at least 6 years in a row with a coaching staff tournament.  We stayed a couple of years at Little Big Man Marina, and Buckhead Marina.  Its a mile north of Harney Pond Ranps.  Never had a problem getting a room.

Never been skunked at Togo regardless of time of year.

Heard yesterday that they're catching 50 to 100 per outing at Kissimmee in running water. That's why I mentioned earlier that I was interested if water was moving out of the creeks. Hope it's still doing that two weeks from now.
