Weather isn't going to be that bad. Thursday is the worst.

Barry it does look like it might be a little wet with high humidity but then again y'all are use to that down there.  ~sweat

Good luck to all you guys going to the Classic. I promise, one of these years I'm going to make it down for one. Maybe after Lou changes the dates to the spring time, during the spawn and not hurricane season, lol.
I will offer some very limited knowledge I have of Kissimmee.
During a spring tx there (I know, different season, and probably different lake too), we were confronted with 20+ kt winds the entire time. No one in the tx concentrated on sight fishing, as it was nearly impossible. During practice we had some success on hb frogs and flipping kissimmee grass. But on the first day of the tx, I switched over to a Z-man popping frog and it made (almost) a huge difference. I had probably my biggest ever fish hooked and coming to the boat through lily pads. She got hung up on one last tiny stand of pads about 10' away, and we could see her tail above the water. It was literally as big as my hand (I have big hands). As we tried to troll over to her and got a better look, she got off. Later that night I told my partner how bummed I was, missing what was probably an 8lb fish. He looked at me crossways and said, "you tell yourself whatever you want to be able to sleep, but that was not an 8lber -  it was easily 10-12. I just sighed and replied, "I know". From that point on, we threw the zman around any lilies we could find that were somewhat protected from the wind and had decent success. It was the only thing we found that worked for us.
The big fish from the tx was 8.5lbs, and it was caught slowly swimming a zoom speedworm. Everyone in that club is crazy about that presentation, and several other anglers had success using it.
I know you guys were probably aware of both presentations, and this is a different time altogether, but perhaps this can help someone with their decision making - especially the part about hb frog vz. Zman. Sometimes that zman just gets bit better.
Be safe, and hopefully you guys can put some hawgs on the board.

We are slow learners George lol. It's only taken us what back to back years with Hurricanes coming at us or near us to figure it out.

Rick it took the Spanish fleets, loaded with plundered gold, a long time to figure that out also!  Lol

I can't wait to get off work. Pulled a 12hr shift, 1030am-11pm today. Training some new people.

We did several years in March for the FL UB meets prior to FLBR lol. Weather was just as bad lol. It is Florida after all.

We can try though. Don't matter to me if we do more than once either!

Slight change in my plans. Found out today that Dad has a Dr Apt tomorrow morning at 11:00 am, which was about the time I was hoping to hit Grape Hammock. So I will be leaving after getting him back home.

Shouldn't take to long, it's just his monthly B-12 Shot.

Be there when I get there. West I'll let you know when I'm on the road.

Capt. BassinLou

I'm pretty much good to go. Boats ready, gear is ready. Everything else I will take care in the a.m.

Lipripper

y'all have a safe trip and will be looking for some reports when y'all have time to post them.

I'm always game for more than 1 a year lol. We could always do a meet up, without it being an official FLBR thing.

Knowing you Lip you'll probably have about 20 posts on the new thread before we even get to the lake and you'll be asking where all our fish are. LOL!!!   ~roflmao

Alright I over exaggerated a bit.  ~gf

Saw the post. I'll make sure I'm photogenic this weekend, as I'm sure I will have lots of fish to be documented

What hurricane? I'm here and there's a good breeze and drizzle. Weather keeps improving for the weekend. It was real windy earlier 20mph but it has died down significantly. Was white capping when I went for a ride around.

If my people do their job right for once you might not make it tomorrow. Flat tire scheduled for the AM followed by a brake cutting when you stop for gas.. lolol jk jk

Fred no worries. Family is more important. Hopefully you make it down and we can do an afternoon out to look around some.

We will probably be there mid day. We work till 11pm tonight and are about an hour away. I might just swing by the candystore on the way down lol.

Wife and I will be staying at a friends home off Shady Oak.

We have t drive around to get there but will be just across a field. We plan on staying near the cabins most the time of course.

But here is where we will be.
