Loaded up the boat and went to the St. Johns this mornin'. Long story short, we got the skunk. We talked to a guy who's a local river rat and he said the spot we were fishin' gets beat pretty hard. There were shad and fish bustin all over, couldn't get any to bite. We found a break where it went from like 30ft to 9 ft, and I carolina rigged that for a minute, then the winds picked up and we headed in. I'm goin' to try and spend some time on the river and learn it. I have some pics of the boat and pappy's truck, but my camera is bein a butt and won't load. Anyways, Happy Easter ya'll.

Here's the pics.....

WHO ME?  ;D   Let me put it this way... I work with some pretty rugged kids, lots of problems and all at a jail. You have no idea how it does my heart good to see you young men in here, laughing, joking, doing fishing reports.. Its very refreshing for me. With all that I work with, I forget there are some real Great "Kids" out there. You make my day.  ;)

A hunt based only on trophies taken, falls far short of what the ultimate goal should be . . . time to commune with your inner soul as you share the outdoors with the birds, animals, and fish that live

I'm gonna try and learn the river over here, I want to join a club, but I'm going to take my time and learn it so that I'm not donating my money to the local river rats before I become one myself.

How's that for a subject change??? lo

Sounds bettin since sharon wants to be so picky ;) I would do that at least when you learn it you can catch all the big fish 8)

Nice...........very very nice 8)

gettin' skunked is not a bad thing.

Not fishing is a bad thing ;)

Swede

St Johns River is a fun place to fish - very tidal related fishery.  I had to get myself to check the tidal information before going each and every time.  First time there I sacked 8 bass - the best 5 going roughly 10 pounds.  Caught them on CBs in about 20 minutes - they turned on when the tide started pulling out.  Tough fishing the rest of the day though.  Nothing like experience on the water to make yourself better - glad you got the chance to get out there and give it a try.
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
