Not great but it's not often I get to fish on a weekday so I'm sucking it up. I'm on the porch on an ice pack right now getting ready for round 3 Toad vs Pig....

Dang fish were completely shut down today. But I was mesmerized by the Spro rat. That thing moves real nice!!!  Walks real good and swims real good too. The segments give it a nice swimming action and the segmented tail does too.

Sorry you couldn't find any fish to bite but looks like that rat might catch you some fish when they decide to eat.

Nice fish Lee!!

I went to leave twice yesterday to hit a pond on the bank. Both times it started raining within a few seconds lol

I just finished building the website and a few social media pages for our up coming journey and youtube channel.

I am having a hard time getting motivated to get out and fish this month. Was planning to go yesterday morning early then come home after the wife got up (it was her day off), instead I got up and sat around drinking coffee until well after daylight. I went out to get the boat ready and made it as far as the far edge of the patio and said to my self "I really don't have the drive to go today", so I didn't.

Spent most of the day sleeping on and off. Today started off sort of the same, except I couldn't get woke up this morning.

I started taking a new prescription that is to be taken before bed and I think that is maybe what the issue is. It is a Muscle Relaxer and it is relaxing me enough to not care if I do anything or not. I know it is making it hard to wake up in the morning. I think I'll start moving the time back when I take it until I find the right place where it's working but I can still wake up and get going in the morning. I've had to do that with others before.

I am planning to start a new FT/PT job around the end of the month or first of next month that involves some travel time, so not sure just how much I'll be fishing for the next 4 +/- months anyway. It's a Seasonal thing that I'll work FT with lots of OT for about 4 months then be laid off until next year. From what I understand I will draw Unemployment from when I'm let go until re-hired. My SIL does this and it works out very well for him, and I will be working with him the first year.

Anyway, still planning on going out later today and just see what happens.

Good luck Fred, I bet if you just get out there and relax you will see it is worth it.

I hope this guy comes and gets the boat tomorrow, if so I will be buying a yak asap to get out on some local spots I can't with a boat ;-)

I see Tress can't let anyone else lead for more than a few hours...

Out this morning for a few hours with a little upgrade on the mega vibe. Threw the toad on and off for 3 hours with nada to show for it. A couple of decent wakes and gar bites were the only action. Big nasties are rolling in from the south today. If they clear I'll be back out late today. I can taste the century club.

Lost my favorite frog to this guy
in here

Came out of no where. Thought I had a gaint bass for about 3 seconds. Contemplated trying to get my frog with long neddlenose pliers but then thought better.

Good luck this afternoon FD. I bet you get to the century mark before I do.
Fished this morning at Lake "C", the one with a huge pad field and hydrilla that is almost topping out. The fish aren't really in it yet, though.
Got the 21.5 on about the 10th cast this morning on a chatterbait, but the bite was really slow overall. Picked up a few more on the horny toad, the zman popping frog, and flippin a sapphire uv craw.  I did see a solid 4-5lber cruising around in a hole in the hydrilla, and it looked catchable, but wasn't. Did sight fish a smaller one in that same hole, which is always fun. On the way out, I really wanted to get rid of the other pesky 17", so I stopped by the north lake in the chain of 3 lakes and threw the hb frog off the bank into the pad field. Cast about 30 yards down the bank and got a huge blowup. Horsed the fish through the jungle, and, like all fish, it looked way bigger as I was fighting it. But it was still a cull, a nice little 19.5. I want to fish tomorrow, but may not have the chance. Going to a concert tonight, and may sleep in. Then, I may have to go to Tallahassee for work, but I'm trying to put that off till Monday.

Caught the 19.5 way down the bank where that darker bush protrudes out into the water. Glad it stayed on, had it hooked real solid.

I hooked one that size in the back foot with a trokar flippin hook last week.  Lassoed his tail with a dock line and used looongggg needle nosed pliers to get it out.  He was not pleased by the experience. Wish I had gotten a picture.

I know they are out there and normally see them before they can get to my bait. This one was buried good and jumped on it like a bass. Oh well, good excuse to place an order at tacklewarehouse.

I planned to go hit the River at Astor today but getting there at 10:00 the parking lot was full, the grass lot was full, and 3-4 boats that pulled in and went directly to the ramp to get ready to launch--- without looking to see if there was parking.

I said screw this and went to another lake not far off and was able to get on it.

First one hit a HB Frog and the way he took it I figured the bite was on.

Couple of hours later still nothing. Switched to a toad which I haven't used in over a year and they were hitting it like this.

Got enough to fill a limit and got off the water before the next round of rain hit.

Just as I pulled into the house it cut loose. Pouring buckets.

Might just leave it hooked up and fish somewhere tomorrow morning.

Here are some pictures, I plan on doing a video and written review on why I chose this one compared to others on the market.

Here are the two local ones.

The two biggest +'s to me are how the pedalS slip forward so I can get shallower and clean the prob, and $$ it is the cheapest pedal drive on the market... well other than Chinese knock offs.
