Yes, I had a like new Citica E that I sold to Rockchalk. I tried using the reel for frogging, and it didnt work out. Sold it to fund a different reel. Loved it though. So this came across my attention. The price was really good, so I picked it up. Project for later on. I am a bit busy right now with some reels that Im servicing. Just finished up the 3 Gen1 Revo SX reels.

My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

They do wrap them up good. Then you buy a LSCR and it takes industrial tools to get to the rod.

Rick,

You are going to enjoy that rod. But I would concentrate on bottom contact rods in the champion series.
Just my opinion.

Already got a 734C for that.
I was looking to get a Sierra but they don't make the 705 glass.

Love the way dobyns pack their rods :)

I am considering getting one more for crank bait since I am currently using the Falcon (BMC-7M   Cranker). There is nothing wrong with this rod but I am starting not to like the micro.

Any suggestion to feed to monkey bait :) but I would have to sell this first lol to fund the other one

Ok I get it. The champion 705cb is lighter than the fury also. Good choice.

The new Rapalas came in. Not only did I get the $25 Rapala gift card from Florida Trophy Catch, it also includes VIP status, which means I get 20% off all Rapala products I order. These three cost me 6.00 out of pocket, shipped, using the card and the discount.

Chris...GREAT BUY!!!!

Just an idea you may want to try.

On the RipStop....try using a 'Snap' like a dual lock or whatever your favorite is.

I started using 'clips' on jerks last year.
Something about the 'slight slide' allowed when the fish hits PLUS increased action.
I used to use a 'loop knot'.
Snpap allows quicker lure change and better action...even compared to the 'loop'.

Those things stop on a dime and actually will turn when 'twitched hard/snapped' almost in place.
Same with the X-Rap.
They almost turn and look at the fish....triggering great bites.

I like them ALL but I think your going to really like the RipStop.......it really does have a unique 'action and the tail litterally stops it in it's tracks.......making the 'followers' pretty much RUN RIGHT INTO IT.....and they usually open thier mouths before hitting/running into it.  ;D

Last thing you may want to try is instead of 'jerking' all the way back......swim them at a real slow constant retrieve.....snap, then stop....good 10 seconds or more, then repeat.
The clip allows for even a better wobble on a straight slow retrieve.

I use them as a traditional 'jerk/slash' bait but often do the above TOO!

Let us know what you think about the RipStop.....for that matter......the Shadow and the X too.

HAVE FUN!

I got to tell ya, those exact style quick snaps are what I use. Man, they really make things easy, and they are quite strong too. I think mine are the BPS brand ones, and have yet to have any problems with them. They also help to keep the action quite interesting. Work very well on my spooks too.

Yeah and light is important for me. It can make the difference between my back hearting 4 hours into fishing, or 8 hours into fishing. I prefer it when I can last the 8 hours.

I started using the dual lock snaps too. I use them on my topwater, cranks and jerks. Makes for a quick switch of a lure, and doesn't seem to hinder the action.
I think the brand I got was P-Line and they are rated for 40lb and 50lb so they are stout enough to handle braid and hard topwater hits.
