Okay, so I just bought some new jigs and am looking for the best line for jigs but that could also be used for other applications as well. I just bought the jigs and would like to keep them as long as possible...lol. I was thinking either Seaguar Invizx or Sunline FC Sniper in a 16lb. test...any other suggestions?
The only stupid question is the one you don't ask!

No matter how much we know about fishing there is always more to learn!

Some of the guys will get on here and give you a better idea as to what line that's not braid, I use 50# Power Pro, 65# in flipping applications, I want to keep mine too  ~roflmao

I wouldn't argue with Lee.

As long as you are good at keeping the line taut enough to not get any slack in it, braid is the best option. If you are really gonna be slack lining it, then I would go fluoro.
My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

I use 30lb Power Pro Super Slick braid and 15lb Seagar Tatsu most of the time. I re-spool my heavier jig rod with 50lb PP when preparing for Guntersville.

1/4 - 3/8 usually get tossed on the fluorocarbon but I don't have a set rule. Depends more on what I'm fishing. Always use braid for all the gnarly stuff when I will need to muscle them out of heavy cover and around docks. I prefer being able to just winch them in on braid.

I started using Braid as I was losing too many jigs several years ago. I found out pretty quickly that braid made my Veritas Jig rod feel a whole lot more sensitive to me. Plus I never lost a fish or a jig.

I gave up completely on Invizx 2 years ago. The Stretch is worse than mono and the memory for me was horrendous. I like FC a lot, but 10# and under only. Anything else for me is just too problematic for the way I fish.

Right now, there is Braid on every rig I own except for my Jerkbait and I'm trying out FC Sniper in 8# now.

Flouro for me. I would add that the best rod, reel and line doesn't make a jig fisherman.
It's all about having feel for what the jig is doing and the right speed for a particular day. And finding fish.

I use Seaguar Tatsu fluorocarbon, 20 lb. test, or Invizx in 17 lb. test. Those two lines have the same actual diameter. I like fluoro for abrasion resistance around rocks. Lost too many jigs with straight braid. And it's kind of nice not to have to bother with a leader.
On my light jig setup (1/8-1/4 oz). I have 30 lb. braid and 12 lb. fluoro leader.
On my second mid-heavy jig setup I will probably try out 50 lb braid to a 17 or 20 lb. fluoro leader, we'll see.

Mostly braid for me. I will throw jigs on any of my braid lines 40,50, or 65 depending on the weight of the jig.
But I have no issue throwing it on Mono (16lb Sunline) or Fluoro (Invizx)
