In the past I have always noticed line conversations always turn into a preference thing, what ever you're happy with and have had great results with seems to be the ticket.  I have tried different ones and always seem to go back to my fav.   .... I'm probably one of the few Stren Line users, my buddies up north were not big fans of it.

I used to use Stren and only Stren then along came Fireline and it was Stren and Fireline now it's several and not Stren. lo lo

Supa awesome right up Rick!   ~c~ ~c~ ~c~ ~c~ ~c~

You plan on doing a casting test next?  We know they all break at about the same point, but since the companies use different coatings; It'd be interesting to know how those coating affect casting distance.

Rick, for some reason I believe you also have some, POWERPRO MAXCUATRO SUPER BRAID?

Hive you done a breakage test on that?

It's a 'four strand Spectra'......I like mine on my spinning gear......what are your thoughts?

Thanks Basss!
Well I wasn't really planning on an actual cast test. I was just going to try the different braids to see which I preferred.

I do have MaxCuatro I haven't tested it though. I have been using it though and haven't had any issues with it. Been catching some bass in heavy cover and haven't had any issue with it.

Thanks for the test Rick! Great topic.
I have tried other braids, but always come back to PowerPro.

Hey Pferox!
Yeah I hear you, but hey you can never be too careful with Chinese made stuff lol. They aren't exactly known for their quality, or quality control.

Why did you stop using KastKing if you don't mind me asking?

Not to get off topic, but I have been in manufacturing for nearly two decades and most of it in the quality field. Some of China produced product is as good or better than anything out there, they are Tier 1 suppliers in some fields. Now...what most people think of Chinese stuff....yes...plenty of that out there for sure...but they do make some high quality stuff actually. They actually produce for well know/reliable companies. Those companies are just co-pack, which means they relabel it and put it in their box.

I use Sunline exclusively really....I trust it and as far as braid goes, one of the smoothest and smaller diameters out there.

Thanks for the input Mike. You're right not all Chinese made stuff is bad. They can make some good products and have good quality control as well. But there is that stigma with the quality. The other thing is that with name brand items you can read reviews and make an educated purchase. With some of these off brand products from China, more times than not you have to just try it out for yourself without any prior knowledge on the products quality.

To your point, I use sunline mono and find it to be excellent. I have never used their braid but I am not opposed to trying it. Though I have been using PowerPro for a while and really like it. I can get it a bit cheaper than the sunline braid. So there's that.

PowerPro will feel like sandpaper compared to FX2...let alone their "finesse" type braids which are offered in lower weights and are like working with sewing thread.

Some stuff, its a no brainer not to buy...Ive seen some reels that are 40$....no way I would waste money on them...I put that about of money in bearings in a reel. Just dont trust that one.
