Triton 186 with Mercury 150 opti....

Was wanting to get a Fury 23P prop for my boat but seems they don't make a 23P in that prop any longer. Not worried about top end speed, just better hole shot..

I have a 24P Tempest plus on it now. Probably stay with a Tempest. Just looking for other ideas. Boats just a little slow getting up with couple of people in boat and full livewell.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I don't think the fury is what you'll want if you are looking for hole shot. I love my fury props but they are really a top end speed.

Have you tried lowering the motor just 1/4? You might loose a mph or two but it can really help the hole shot.

Sounds to me like if your set up is correct that perhaps a 4 blade prop will help your hole shot but indeed speed 1-2mph will likely be lost.  Do you happen to know what your prop to pad measurement is currently?
Can you give us an idea of what your load weight is. Perhaps there is some negative influence due to weight distribution.

If you're looking to drop the dollars on a new prop. I'd suggest looking into the Razor 4 built by Mark Croxton.

After re-powering in 2015, I had a lot of prop performance issues. My prop was a 23p 4 blade but it was designed quite differently from the kind of prop I needed for my new motor. Ultimately, Mark made some modifications then balanced and blueprinted. Saved me about $200 that way and I'm real happy but I still want a Razor4. ;D

Several months of research. I contacted guys who had done reviews and had several discussions with Mark Croxton himself. Mark will performance tune your prop for your motor and has a reputation second to none. If I'm spending $500-$600 on new prop, I want it to be perfect. Most new props aren't even that well balanced or perfectly pitched.

The Razor 4 and Razor 4XL are for 150hp and up.

when he tunes a prop , do you give him info specific to your boat's size, motor, rpm / mph ,etc., or is the tune up always the same process

Mark wants all the data. The boat model, motor, rpm, speed, load, everything. He says each rig is different.
