Ran the new to me tin rig for the first time.

Well I finally got all the kinks ironed out and got to go fishing in the Starcraft. The first problem that had to be fixed was the overheating engine. This was easy it just needed a new water impeller wear plate and housing oh and the tsat was closed shut with crud.Here it is running at the house running . The next was an intermittent problem with trolling motor problem was it would only work part of the time. The issue turned out to be a gob of wires they used to try and make the trolling motor work. Well its now working as should minus some fine tuning like engine set up oh and I have since moved the console so it would be more centered. I think it was a good day.

What's the story on the boat, did you by it as a project or did you find the problems after you bought it? What size boat and motor? From the pics it looks like a decent boat and I hope it serves you well!

Awesome! It's good that you finally got on the water. All that work on your Bee only to have it totaled plus all of your work on the Starcraft! I sure hope you have a great year on the water!

Well I was talking with a buddy after the Bumble Bee incident. It turned out he had a cousin that had a aluminum boat that he thought I would like. I went to look at the boat I saw it had potential so I told him I was interested we talked back and forth on the boat and came to an agreement. I traded a sbc and a turbo 400 for the boat as is the owner did not know if the motor ran or not but since it wasn't frozen I took the chance.I then started working on getting it water ready. The engine fired right over with some fresh gas and a new bulb but I quickly found it got hot quick fortunately it was as simple as a new impeller kit and tstat and the water passages got a good cleaning. Now for the boat itself. It was already decked out and set up but I didn't like where the console was so I moved it about 6'' over the fit me better. Now for the boat its a 15 ft Starcraft the engine is a 50hp Evinrude Sizzler (ironic huh) with a 40 top that came with it.

Thanks I think its going to be a good one. I hooked into several through out the day but they were the ones I managed to get in the boat. It was just one of those days.
