Dang... I don't check in on this thread for a little while and smack talk is flying all over the place... 

I can't commit to this trip for now, due to the fact that our FLBR Classic is also held in October. Although I would truly love to hang out with all you guys and I can't leave my Florida crew hanging. 2 trips in one month will definitely not fly with Mrs. BassinLou. But... many things can happen over the course of 9 months so let's see what happens.

Everyone knows the "south" a lot of times doesn't consider Florida south.. even though we are a Southern state. I 100% agree we have a lot of Yankees here.. because they migrate down. It was meant to be a joke... that was it. If you were from here you would understand (not saying we are better than you..) not a lot of born and raised Floridans. Most are people visiting or that move here to escape the cold.

Florida is a great fishery no matter what you say. Both fresh and salt are excellent. Obviously there is great fishing all over the world. Sorry for getting you so flustered for making yet another joke.. since a lot of people right now have frozen lakes. I am glad yours isn't frozen. I would say "junior" or be demeaning but here in the south we to respect our elders.

I have had the pleasure of fishing there.  Both fresh and salt.  You're absolutely correct, it's a great place.

So far it has been pork steaks and smoked pulled pork then tri tip last year.

I don't know if I can buy a smoker by then, but I'll try. I'm going to be there early so I could always smoke something before the masses show up

it will still taste the same, with a slightly more black pepper flavor on the finish.  I like those peppers as they work great for smoked meat without killing the initial taste.

I'm hoping Matt can bring a lot of the FL guys with him, someone needs to babysit him on his flight, you guys need to try hard and make this trip, it'll be well worth it, just in the entertainment portion, oh and we fish some also
