What is the difference between the two and is it enough to make a $50 difference?

Paint job, better spool bearings, tad lighter spool. I could make the regualr version far better than the Type R for $60, so thats what I did when I had mine. Otherwise, you really wont notice a difference in hand.

2 bearings to the worm gear.

2 bearings to the knobs. They come factory with 1 bearing, and 1 bushing.
