16 foot 8 Champ????

So I just acquired another Champ and it's listed as a 16"8 but it measures 16"3????I have been in a bunch of Champs but this blows my mind....lol..I guess in 1982 somebody slipped up,don't know how but they did.

5 inches is quite a bit. Maybe the original owner listed it wrong? Since Champion is out of the picture, I don't know how a person could verify this?

Agreed,I have 3 different friends with the 16"8 and we have measured their Champs and all are 16"8 on the nose.Nothing structural has been done to this one,I bought it from original owner who I know well.Very strange!!I will say this it runs like a bat out of hell with this 150 on the back.

That's a lot of missing fiberglass. Gotta wonder if he ended up with a pro's mod'd boat by accident 

It would take a lot of work to pull five inches out of a boat and get everything lined back up right ... very interesting.

Told you not to wash it in hot water because it would shrink!
