Terry G and I launched out of Spires.  Spent some time looking for some bait but not a whole lot was located but we did find some.  We fished a variety of lures.  Terry used a Chatterbait most of the time with a white Little Dipper trailer.  I think he also had on a spinnerbait for a while and spent some time with a plastic worm.  He caught a bunch of Chain Pickerel right off the bat at our first spot then we decided to go bass hunting for a while.  We could not find any feeding bass for the rest of the day.  I started on the surface with a whopper plopper 90 in the monkey butt color but had not takers. Tossed a worm for a bit with no results and then a spybsbait for a bit and still nothing.  During the search for bass we fished docks and trees and looked in some deeper water locations with no takers.  We returned to our original starting point and I put on my trusty True South Spinnerbait and then caught some more of those hammer handle size Chain Pickerel and we even got a couple of perch.  What the heck.  I did have a chance to test the mega chomp, mega shake for a while and it worked well but had no fish takers.

Water temp was 60 degrees and wind was west at about 10.  Air temp ranged from about 50 in the morning to about 60 by noon.  Water was clear by santee standards and only a little stained.

Although the bass fishing was not good to us today we still had our usual good time.  Always fun fishing with a good friend.  Can't wait to do it again.  Hopefully next time we can go the Cooper River, one of my favorite places.

Thanks for the report Bud and sorry y'all couldn't find any Bass but like you said y'all had a good time together and that's worth it. Maybe next time y'all can hit the Cooper River.
