Very nice fish can be caught bank fishing, what bank fishing pigs have you caught?

I caught this 7+lbr a few years ago at a canal very close to my home. It was early summer and I was walking to spot when a shadow around 7-8ft deep caught my eye. Normally I wouldn't have seen the fish at these depths, but half the bass's body was contrasting against a patch of a lightly colored sand. I pitched my bait (soft plastic) past the patch of sand and slowly moved the bait across to where the bass was positioned. In half a second the bass inhaled my offering, and the rest was history.

What stories do you guys have??

LgMouthGambler

Fishing with Martin, asked him to let me try casting his reel with some kind of line he was trying. Saw some movement across the canal, so I cast the fluke that way. Needless to say he was a little mad after that. Haha

My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

I don't have a picture of my PB LM but it was 5.99 pounds.

My biggest from the bank was this chunk. Taken from Pratt County Lake. 18.4 pounds

This upper 4 lber was caught on a jig in a small pad field in a canal out in the Everglades. The fish picked it up while it was dropping. Felt the line go limp but didn't feel bottom. Reeled down felt some weight and set.

I don't have a pic but my personal best from the bank is 5 lbs. and 3 oz. caught from a small pond inside an inner-city park in '92 or '93. Looked like she was dripping eggs when I reeled her in so I weighed her on an old De-Lier real quick and got her back in the water ASAP.

Bank Fishing was how I was introduced to Bass Fishing. I have caught more than I can remember from the bank.

The biggest ones have run between 5-6 lbs.

ill admit i havent fished off the bank all that much but i have a few. the fish i will be posting are from our local city lake. this little lake could be a trophy possible double digit lake if it had the right care. its a catch and release only lake as it is but no body seems to follow the law which only hurts the lake. the biggest ive caught from it was maybe 3lbs

My largest from shore was caught on April 29 1989 and i have lost the picture but it was a 7# smallie that hit a black spinnerbait at night. Thought it was a muskie at first. It was the last bass I kept till I fished a lake that needed thinned out this year. My mother in-law likes bass so I kept a few for her.
The only reason I kept that big girl is that there was no replicas then.

Caught this guy right outside my house. Missed him next to the break wall a couple days before. Went back and hammered him at the same location with a small bluegill crank. Super clear water and watched him come out of the shadows. Awesome experience.

Caught this one this spring on a spinnerbait.  Didnt weigh.

Several of these when I was up in Chicago working in April.  Throw this lipless as far as you could, once it hit a bush and you ripped it "Fish On".  Caught 3-4 just like this.

Caught this one at my sisters winery lake next to a stump right before dark

Lip that was several years ago.  I was doing a consulting gig at some pharm company in Naperville.  It was at the park to the west of Naperville.  I think it was Spring Lake Park.  Those uppity folks looked at me funny when I walked back into the marriot with a fishing pole  lo
