I can clean them for $27.50 each (includes shipping).

The only difference I'm aware of is frame material. Metal to space age material. There are some cosmetics but I don't know those tweaks as much. I want to say the red trimmed one will be a Gen 2. There is no difference internally as far as springs and working pieces.

The one on the left is the GEN 2. I had one for a couple of seasons.

The spools are different an the handle is straight on one an angled on the other. Both work flawlessly. Hope these continue to hold up so I can hand them down to my son.

They are really good reels. If taken care of, you should definitely have them for a while. The biggest problem I've seen with them is the ARB going bad. To prevent that keep them clean and lubricated and you won't have any problems.

Yep, Gen2 on the left. Both are solid Abus, before that company went south. Mike will get them singing for ya.

Gen 1 reels used a single piece spool, the Gen 2 used the split shaft Infini type spool. The Gen 2 reels had stronger magnets in them and were a little easier to get dialed in.  Both really good reels for flipping and pitching.
