Do not leave home with your boat without a length of weed wacker plastic. I replaced the impeller in my Merc last wee, yesterday all was good, peeing like a racehorse. Today just a trickle was coming from the pee hole and at times just drops. I pulled the piece of "string" from the tool locker, raised the motor enough to get to the hole, shoved it in and worked it around, started the motor and it peed like a racehorse again. ;D lo

Great advice. Lightweight, easy to store solution for what could be a day-ruiner.

I like piano wire. Stays a little stiffer while working it through, and tougher.
My wife says she is gonna leave me if I go fishing one more time........lord how I will miss that woman.

Maybe a guitar string?

I too keep weed whacker string in my boat. Have had to use it a couple of times. And believe it or not -- I also rigged up a gizmo hose that lets me use my live well recirculating pump to back-flush my outboard at the garden hose connection,
