Do not lean over to pick up the mooring lines when you have your cell phone in your pocket. Don't ask me how I know. lo My brandy new MOTO Z is swimming with the fishes, fortunately we were able to replace it with an I-Phone 6 for 1$, it went to my wife, she likes the smaller size, and I got her new MOTO Z. :bang :bang ~xyz ^-^

Was about 6 years ago I bought Linda a new state of the art Samsung. I think it cost about $200 extra over the free phone deal. It rang just as she was finishing up the bathroom. Yup, kerplunk! Second one cost a whole lot more and it was a cheaper model.  ::)

Also don't lay your phone on the windshield of a car your working on ;) it's amazing how high they can go when you reach in to turn the key on and accidentally hit the wiper lever pulse function ! I don't do that any more but that has happened to me TWICE !

Or the bumper.
Left one there when working on my Jeep. Lost it when I went for a test drive.
Crappy thing is when I realized I lost it, I drove the same track I took for my test drive and watched someone run it over! Not sure if it had been hit already.

Now that is funny Cojab!! I did that once and figured my phone was lost. I drove two hours down the road and it was sitting on the bumper when I got home.

When the Razor first came out, I lost my first one a week after getting it, it slid right off of the airboat deck.  That year I lost 4 or 5 more got a letter from the phone insurance company stating that they weren't going to cover anymore losses that year.   ~roflmao

Lost a flip phone after Church on Wednesday night once.  Had decided to wait until Sunday afternoon to do something just incase someone found it and turned it in.  Went to Church Sunday, found it in the curb gutter in the parking lot as we pulled in to park, still had a charge on it.  Go figure.

When I went back to the Verizon store they chuckled then spent time trying to put together a deal when they came up with the I-Phone deal! Great customer service, have a belt clip hard case now. lo

I never lost a phone personally, but when my son was about 9 years old he went on an overnight with a friend's family. I gave him my phone just in case. Of course he came home without it. His friend's parents searched their car, and my son said they searched all around the places they had gone but didn't find it. It was a cheap prepaid phone that you had to add money to every 30 days and it only had about ten days left before it needed to be renewed again so it was no big deal but I learned a lesson and so did he.

I called that phone every day for about three weeks just in case someone found it or there was a grace period on the rollover minutes but nobody ever answered it. For an old style flip phone it had some decent features and I have to admit I missed it for a while.

Now that I have re-joined the 21st century and gotten another smartphone my phone now resides only in one of three places - my pocket, my hand or on the charger next to my bed.  Lesson learned the hard way.  ~b~

One of the first things I do after putting my PFD on is putting my keys, wallet and cell phone in the glove box.  I don't put my wallet or phone back on my person till I'm on dry land.  I fell out of my boat once and got everything wet and it was costly. ~b~
