me and a buddy went to the river and we only caught about 7 fish.  BUT-----i caught one about 7.5 (maybe 8) on a buzz bait.  he haunched on it.  had to tighten my draaaaaaaag before i could get him in.  anyway--caught most on worms, a couple on buzzers and a few c-rigging.  all in all it was a good day.  had a good time.

drop it deep and yank it hard,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,

That's a goooooooooood river fish ;D.  Heck, that's a good 'un anywhere!

docwaldo

let me say this.  i did not weigh the fish.  but she was a sow.  a good solid 7 and a half.  maybe bigger.  i hae not caught tons of 7+ fish, butr i have caught enough to know that this fish was every bit of 7.5.  i did not want to take the chance of letting her die, so i kissed her on the nose and said my good-byes.  such a bitter sweet moment.  my eyes started sweating.  :'( :'( i think it was my allergies or something.  but when i turned her loose, i made a deal with her.  she will not ever eat another buzz bait unless i am holding the rod it is attached to.  time will tell if she was telling the truth. :-\  probably not.  .  .  .  .

went to the RED today, launched at stoner just to see what was on this end. couple of weeks ago when the fed was here talked to some guys at wal-mart that was fishing it and he told me that he fishes up on that end, I saw where he told me he was fishing but wanted to run further south first and hit it on my way back, well i ran out of time and didnt get to fish it. ran to the port lake just to  look around while i was at the mouth three boats blew by and ran to the back of the port, so not knowing much about it I followed most were fishing in the place that dean rojas was fishing off limits.... just followed fishing behind ppl and picked up one on a crankbait maybe 2lbs.. didnt see anyone else catching but saw spinnerbaits, looked like brush hogs? but missed a short fish on the crank, caught a short one on baby brush. so had three bites in there first time ever.. time to leave headed back north saw a few cuts went to check out caught a 13 or so on a 1/4 black-blue jig.. tried to hit some jettes but had to head back, so nothing exciting but kewl to fish new water..

Marty

Fished in pool 4 today for awhile.  I didn't get started fishing until after 9 am, so  the early morning bite was pretty much over with, if there ever was one.  Caught 8 or 9 bass, no big ones though.  The best 5 probably only went about 7 lbs.  All of them bit on a lizard in grass along the banks.  I caught 2 nice Ops (catfish) on a crankbait along the rocks, but didn't catch any bass that way.  I talked to a guy fishing down there who had just put a 20 lb catfish in the livewell that he had caught on a bass jig at the end of a jetty.

Pre fished the red for the Sams Town tournament. Started in my never fail spot just to make sure there were still fish in there, I couldn't even get to it. The hyacins are so thick that I came about 50 yards short of being able to get to my bank line. Tried the edge of it and nothing. Moved to bee hive and low and behold the whole south side is covered in hyacins, you could barely get your boat in the cut. Left there for White house. The water is pretty clear in there but I wasn't bit on a spinner bait or jig. I fished the mouth to Caspiana and nothing. So for the day, a grand total of ZIP..... This place is extremely muddy.

Went to fish the Sams town tournament. My partner didn't show, guess he was still making money on the big boat  ~c~

I fished a little bit inside of Clark's there while waiting for weigh in. Caught three solid keepers on a colorado spinner bait. About 10 am I hit a stump will troller motoring to a brush top and about threw myself out of the boat. Anyway with my back problems that sent me over the edge and I headed home, so I don't know how everyone did. Hopefully Steve A. or Fishrman will hook us up with the details. They are both at Rayburn right now so maybe this week.

Man Mike you sure like Stumps!  Last time it was the big motor in the back now its the small motor in the front.  Keep the middle of the boat safe buddy or you may have to swim home.

I hope you back is doing ok, get well soon.

P.S.  I think its time for a name change,  Busted Bass Club, Old & Broke but Still Fishing, Bass MD, any other ideas?

Hey Mike, your Gambler from last year won it this year. My Gambler didn't show either so I was the Meida Boat. I saw lots of fish being caught ALLL OOVER THE PLACE....There is NO PATTERN. I actually saw a fish caught on a PINK SPINNERBAIT. Now beat that....Dave     Okey Dokey.........

Siggy by DundeeMike

docwaldo

that fish caught on a pink spinner bait-------i bet he voted for kerry.  what do yall think??  hehehehehe

i have caught many a white bass on a pink rooster tail.  sometimes we have to break from a pattern and just throw something crazy at 'em.  guess that is why we call it fishing and not catching.

Now don't blame me with this one. I was told that that fish was "a pickle smoking" fish. Now I'm not sure what that is, but it don't sound too good to me.....Dave.....
