A very important tip for all of you that have onboard battery chargers; don't for get to unplug them when you are ready to head for the water. Don't ask how I know.  :( lo

Did that once, noticed the cord in the side mirror when I turned left at the end of the block.  Fifty foot cord trailing behind me.  Haven't done it since.

Been there, done that!  My cord ran from inside the garage, under the door and into the rear of the boat.  I actually damaged the garage door before the cord popped loose at the boat when the prongs bent far enough.

Well I can honestly say I've not done that yet.

Now while living in Alaska I forgot to unplug the truck and drove off with  my extension cord trailing me.  Up in Alaska during the winter we plugged our vehicles in.  We have block heaters, battery heaters, oil pan heaters etc that keeps things warm during the cold.  ~b~

Hopefully you didn't damage the on board charger.

I have done this as well a few times lol.  Now I have the cord ran and hangs down near the charger from the roof. It just unplugs itself if I forget now :-)

I didn't hurt the charger but I had to put the female connector back on. It's a cord I got for free but the female connector was pashtunky so I put a commercial quality plug on, had the joy of putting it back on again.

Minor repairs then which isn't too bad.  Glad it wasn't more that that.  Where is your charger and plug located on your boat?  On my Stratos the charger is mounted under the back deck by the cranking battery.  The plug in cable is routed under the storage box on the pax side.  There's a hole drilled on the pax side that the plug comes out next to the seat.  I pull it out a little and run the extension cord to it.
My G3 the charger is mounted between both batteries and the plug in cable is there in the back next to my rear depth finder.

My Tracker is a deep v without a rear deck, I put a temporary one in. The charger is mounted under the deck in the rear starboard corner, I want to make the deck a bit more permanent with storage capability. Long term project. It was an easy fix, wire cutters, stripper and phillips head screw driver, cut the cable back, strip a portion of the wires, insert the keeper piece, insert wires into correct places on plug, screw plug to keeper and tighten wire keeper, just didn't want to have to do it. What happens when I pulled off my routine. lo
