Not sure but I passed over it on Hwy79 going to Murvaul and it was up and flowing well. :)

Still pretty low........2 more feet and it will be good enough

Was thinking about going this weekend. Might rent a xpress boat from the base and see if all the rain has them biting. Just have to see how the week plays out.

Good enough to launch? or did you mean good enough current that the fish will bite?

I sure would hate to trailer my 929 all the way there and be stuck on the bank.

Sorry Fogy ,I should have been more specific .The current water level of the Sabine is 17.24 @ Logansport....I would not think you could comfortably launch your boat until it reaches about 19.5 .To keep up with current water levels go here   http://waterdata.usgs.gov/tx/nwis/uv?08022500 ...I would think the lighter boats could launch out of Garrets fine since the water level has risen 2 plus feet over the last couple of weeks. I will go check it out tomorrow and let yall know what I find out.

The river has risen pretty fast this weekend.    http://waterdata.usgs.gov/tx/nwis/uv?08022500

Did I read that right, it looks like its at full stage?

mitchell

By chris earlier report I would say no. He said it would need to be at 19.5 to put in with the bigger boats. I would like to know what full stage is also.

Thanks for the site chris and the updates!

I would think full pool would be around 24 foot .........The normal level during last years white bass run ranged from 20.5 to 23 if I remember correctly. For some reason my spots did really well at 21.5 and below.. Wont be long now. I do know of someone catching them really good but you need a small boat to get to the spot and she is putting in around Carthage. Check this out. riverridgetx.com

Good news for you white bass fishermen..........I went to the ramp at Garrets Park for a first hand look on the water level this afternoon and there were about 30 trailers in the parking lot .......saw a couple of tandem axle Ranger Comanche trailers so there are some bigger boats launching. We waited around for a while to talk to ANY boaters and none came in while we were there. In my experience if there are over 15-20 trailers in the parking lot then the sandies are in full swing. My kids are begging me to take them tomorrow so who knows? May or may not.
