Caddo Lake Bass Fishing Reports 4/2/06

My partner and I fished the TCTC Tourney today and since we didnt have a solid starting point for the tourney we decided to run to Thompsons Arm to see if we could get Scotties big girl to bite. Well we pulled in to a group of trees with a duckblind and my partner hooks into a horse on the third cast. He is fighting this fish while I dig the net out,I get ready with the net and this fish will not come up for anything ,it goes under the trolling motor and I re-assure my partner I will get this fish....as I bend down and get on my knees with the net my shorts hang up on the trolling motor button....SNAP.. fish gone. I feel like an a$$. .I couldnt apologize enough. We left there not too long after and caught 11 slots and shorts the rest of the day on watermelon red lizards and flukes in shallow water. We ended up only weighing one fish and it was a 3.3 caught in Ames Springs. Im ready for the next club tourney. ....time for redemption.

Danny , it was just over ten pounds. It was tough like you said. I figured we would have a few fellas figure something out....

Scottie just confirmed that big girl came from that same spot ......Oh man , do I feel bad for sure now.

If she was the same girl then WOW what a fish! Thats just how it goes sometimes. If something like happens again, I know what NOT to do. The 15 to 20 seconds she was on, was a BLAST!!!

Oh I highly doubt it was the same fish, only a day later but hey anything is possible. On the other had big fish hang in the same spots

Papa and another buddy of mine said it was probably a grinnel......Lets just go with that

Yep...Sounds like possibly the same fish...Haven't caught alot of big bass but she fought me like with Chris...wouldn't come up for nothing...

Made a big run toward the back of the boat and just kept going...

Run back there and fought some more.. Made some other runs stripping line and then a run under the boat...still haven't seen the fish and was thinking it was a big cat by now...thumbed her down and pulled her from under the boat...rod about half way in the water..

Finally saw this big bucket comming out of the water.....it was about then I started hollerin..

Now I got something to use as my avatar...

If that was the same fish that Chris and partner hooked Sunday, I wonder if she would still be in the area..

I think I might have to find out....soon..

Of course I do not know if it was the same fish or not but I know they will bite when hungry or mad.
I have caught the same Bass off of the same bed 3 days in a row on 3 different baits in my pond. Now I realize they are only out of the water about 30 seconds and Scotties fish was out of the lake a good while, I would think that would cause more stress and those big girls stress easily.

Thanks Papa....also I don't think they get that big by being stupid either.....but it did appear she had been hooked before...there was a red spot in the roof of her mouth a little to the side..

Oh well...nice to think about anyway....gonna try to get out after work Thursday....weather permitting..
