"She Who Must Be Obeyed" has determined I need to get the 2009 Club Car Golf Cart ready for the Camper this season.

We needed new batteries and I went with 4-12 Volt 29 Series Deep Cycle from Sams Club instead of the 6-8 Volts it originally had. Not only am I losing some weight and gaining some speed I'm also saving some serious change in the process.

Several campers at our campground have done this and are very happy with the switch over.
I decided I wanted to add a digital display meter panel to the dash to monitor the 48v battery setup. I purchased 2 of these for some small change off Amazon and eventually I will add one to my bow panel on the Ranger for the TM batteries (probably the tin rig also).

My question is how can I wire this thing up so it only displays the voltage when the key is in the on position ?
It's a 2009 Club Car Precedent Professional Series 48v
Serial # PQ0916-017612

I been wracking my brain for the last hour trying to figure out how to make this thing only display when the key is on lol

A relay that gets its power from the key? Just a regular off road light relay would work I think.

Hook it up so that your meter is the light. And a jumper from the key is the switch. Then tap into something for constant power, to the relay. When you turn on the key it should send power to the relay closing the loop and powering the Meter. Just like a switch would a light.

I would use a relay to work from the ignition switch and turn on the display.  That will keep it from running down the batteries looking neat and all.
