Mine is a side console and yes the wind is terrible. I have it set up for trolling Erie for walleye and steelhead. But it is great for bass also. I have had it up creeks that fiberglass boats have no shot at. It floats in 6" of water.

Can you post a pic of it? I would like to see how you have it set up.

Beautiful boat! I looked at a few near here and they are sweet for sure.

Thanks West, we are enjoying the heck out of it. Surprisingly stable compared to other aluminum's I have owned. My only regret is that I didn't get the 75 hp. These and the Ranger tin boats are foam filled and heavy. Been on the water almost every weekend for the past couple month's. It handles rough water good for what it is. Fished Pomme De Terre with wind gust's over 30 mph a few weeks ago so I really got to test how it rode.

Really nice boat! I'm going to check out the VT-18 Saturday.

Thank you, I have been really impressed with this boat now that I have had it for a year.

VERY nice looking boat sir! I am right in the middle of searching for a newer boat myself. Your boat is one I've been taking hard looks at.

I can't swing a new boat right now but did get a decent pocket full of cash in a disability settlement. So, I'm not going to allow myself to get into something I can't just pay cash for and be done with that part of it.

For many years I have been against spending the money for a glass boat while living and fishing for the most part in Indiana. We only have about 6 LM bass in the entire state of Indian. We just take turns catching those 6 every year.

The problem I'm having though is, I have A LOT of tackle! 36 casting rods and reels, I'm proud to mention they are all Dobyns Champion XP and Champion Extreme HP and a couple Kistler Z-Bones left. There's no junk in my rod lockers! I am having trouble finding a aluminum boat that has enough, or close to enough, storage for my tackle and rod lockers that will hold my 7'11" and 8ft rods and not all 36 outfits but store several. When I've found a metal boat that will work for me, the price is as much as I can get a 2005-2012 year glass boat with a 150hp-200hp.

I may as well just look for a glass boat that I can get in to for my price range. How is the storage room and length of the rod locker in your new boat??? I will say that I think the Crestliner is by far the best looking metal boat on the water. Any info you can send my way would be greatly appreciated!!
You can't practice attitude...

I can fit an 8' rod in there. I have had 22 combos in my rod locker at one time and it was a tight fit. Wasn't sure if I was going to be able to close the lid. You wont be able to fit that many rods if they are 7'6" or longer because the locker angles upwards and there are some wires or something up in the front. I will try to get a picture with some rods in there. I believe I have 14 in it right now and it doesn't look half full. The tackle storage area is completely open under the front deck but not very deep. I can only double stack 3700's under the deck. Under the lid area you can stack 3 easily. Hope this helps you.
