During all my research on making lures I noticed some guys are using lead molds.  Does anyone know where we can get either premade molds for hot lead or molds we can cut what we want into them?

Thank you everyone for your kindness and patience during my/our learning stage of making lures.

Jim

I went here http://www.kmolds.com  and it is a computer support technologies place.

I think a new one needs to be found and that one taking away.

His name is oldfart9999. He is one of the most experienced lead weight makers I have known. A NNY fisherman. Good luck.

I use Do-It molds.

I found some on Amazon and at $40 plus it would be out of my range trying to get the other stuff to.
Thanks for the heads up tho

Oldfart is my Avatar, my name is Rodney. lo Go to Janns or Barlows and you'll find a blank Do-It mold for making your own shape. Also, google jig or spinnerbait or worm weight molds and you'll find more, some of whom will custom make what you want.
The knowledge I have came from my own experience and from reading what others recommend, an excellent place is Tackleunderground, free membership, and you will find help for making any thing fishing, good guys and willing to share. If you go there remember to share the info here with us and don't be afraid to ask questions.

Thank you Rodney.

With being on this website I am at my limit which includes WoodNet.net and Lumberjocks.  If I go to, to many I get overwhelmed and do not remember what I read or seen where.

It is good to meet you too.

If you are planning on making your own molds, would getting  2x4 inch  or bigger aluminum bar stock.  They might call it something else, but it is basically bar stock.  I would think a dremel tool some bits, and a few pieces of roll stock for alignment pins would make some nice ones.

That is going into it way more then I can handle with my condition.  Back in my younger days as a machinist/sheet metal worker in the Air Force that would have been possible, but funds and my brain injury will not allow that anymore.  Thank you for thinking of it tho
