How close to the water will the weigh-in be?
If it will be close, it will make things a little easier. Plus, Steve and I both have mesh weigh bag inserts. I already have tubs and aerators. This is just an option, whatever way is decided on, one mesh bag could be used in a tub to hold weighed fish until they are ready to be released. Then while someone is returning that bag of fish to the water, the other mesh bag can be use to continue weigh-in.
(I'm sure there will be pictures taken of catches for UB) One or two tubs near the scales will help this process and I have no problem making sure the tub is full of water and the pump is batter operated. With aerators, there is no need for additive.
I'm just volunteering these items to help improve the UBCS. The tubs are plastic and don't weigh anything. As far as filling, that can be accomplished the night before and I would be responsible for it.
Let us know what is decided so we can make arrangements if necessary.

Russ, how big are these tubs you have? I think it would be great have them for the weigh in.

I've got 6 tubs and each tub is 25 gallons. They would hold 2-3 weigh bags each. They are stackable so space is not an issue. They only weigh a couple pounds each so weight isn't as issue either.
They are used mineral tubs that farmers/ranchers use to supple mineral to livestock.
I have one battery operated aerator and two 12v livewell aerators. All this stuff is all ready purchased, so we don't need to go spend money.

Russ I think we can definitely use the tubs to help with the weigh in. I still think we need to keep the handling down to minimum. If y'all want to try weighing each fish we can do that. That is one way that those fish get handled the least. We could use the tubs to stage before and during weigh in. If we did weigh each fish we could have a mesh bag in a tub by the scale. As a fish is weighed it goes in the mesh bag in the tub. When all the fish from that team is weighed those fish go back in the lake and the next team is brought up. The process continues until all teams have weighed. The biggest 10 fish from each club would be determined by the weights recorded.

Some of us up this way have been discussing it and your last post is spot on with our discussion. However, the final word is up to Mike and Laurie and the hosting club. That's my opinion due to it being a UB tourney. So whatever y'all decide, that's what we will go with. I'll plan to bring the tubs, pumps...ect. Let us know if there's anything else we can help with to continue to make the UBCS a special yearly event.

weigh individual fish? Last year we would have weighed 100 fish per day.  Going to need a notebook to keep up with all them and a spreadsheet to do calculations.  This seems like time wise we are looking at more time the fish are out of the lake.  The only plus is they will be in the tubs but even then we are talking about lots adding and subtracting.  Id volunteer to bring my laptop to maintain the weights per team to make a spreadsheet for easy calculations. Please let me know if you would like me to do that Jared. PoPo ^-^
