Okay guys, Now I'm really sad. Iwa told that a GPS would hurt my feelings.....and it did....My speedo usually gives me 68mph wot and I was pretty happy with that considering that my boat is 18 foot with a 150 xr6  (non-fuel injected) with a 92 1/2 inch beam. Well thanks to Mike N. and his GPS that he let me borrow to GPS it, I know now that my speedo is about 6 mph off. I got a whopping 62.1 wot. Now I need to start working a little harder on my better half for that 929 w/a 225. Now not that I am a speed freak or anything but come on, 62.1?
Hey papa, did you say 15 year notes? hummmmm!!!
I wonder what the GPS will be during the winter????
You know, My boat may not be the "best", but I like it.......Dave

I agree Papa.  You could ask...what truck is the best...suv...rod...reel...motor...trolling motor...and you will get as many different answers as you want.

For me...the Nitro is the best...but that is for me.  I don't sell them or get commissions off of sales or get paid to advertise...but when I buy another boat it will be a Nitro.

Good luck in your shopping and decision making.

Dave...keep the GPS until winter and see.  Like I told you...I don't use it...want to buy it?  I have accessories.

Hey Dave,  Maybe we can get a better deal on the 929 if we buy at the same time  ;D I'll have to run that one by my wife...It is getting to where I am making up excuses to drag her to Bass Pro so the boats are right in front of her while I am doing my begging.

She has admitted she really likes the boat, but I think that $35,000 plus price tag scares her!  >:(   :'( If it ever happens, I'll wait until then to mention the extras I'll have to add like a cool color Lowrance, GPS, etc.  >:D

Have you checked out Nitro.com? You can build your own boat, then use the payment calculator to figure you payments. After building a 929 with my options, the payments were only $336.00 for 15 years. Heck we can afford that!!! aa ;D . If only I can find a way to e-mail that to my wife from an anonymous sender... >:D

Papa, it's going to boil down to what you want in a boat. You are right about one thing, if it's yours it's probably the best. What person spends that much money and then turns around and says it's a piece of crap I made a mistake buying it. Not many I can tell you that. Price doesn't always mean it's good or bad and ALL brands of boats have lemons. I believe most boats made today are well made boats and most of them have similar features. Some boat manufactures put little special details into their rigs that make them special in thier own way but the bottom line is the performace and durablitiy of the hull. Some boats are made for speed, examples Bullet, Gambler, Bumble Bee, and Allison, while othere boats are made for rough water conditions, example Ranger and Champion. Most other manufactures try to find a happy medium and deliver a good price. It's all in what you want and need in a boat. We've been picking on Mike's Nitro in this thread quite a bit but I will say Nitro makes a good boat and at a great price, I don't blame Mike for being proud of his boat and if it performs to his likings then that's truely all that matters. Myself, I bought my Javelin second hand and I bought it because I got it at a great price. I started looking into Javelins after I bought it and found out the story behind them and Stratos Boats. I am really surprised at how well my boat has performed so far. I've put this boat in Vernon lake at ran over countless stumps and never looked back, I've put it on Toledo with some bad winds and it took the waves better than I thought it would, and I've run it WOT on the River and never had to slow down in the turns. So needless to say I am more than satisfied with my boat and will more than likely buy a Stratos when I'm ready for another one. ( for those confussed Stratos and Javelin are now the same company). The bottom line is if you are happy with your boats performance then why not brag on it and call it the best. It is the best to you and that's all that matters.

BIG PAPA

Whew!!! I just went and priced Nitro's on the Nitro site. The starting price on the one similar to Mike Noble's looked pretty good at 24 thousand dollars, but by the time you get a 200 EFI, a graph on the front a hot foot, and trim lever you just passed 30 thousand dollars.

Think I just started liking my boat more then ever ;D

Papa,

I just figured out that I could get 38 SeaSprites for the price of one of those fancy Nitro boats...without the "character". Now where I could find 38 of those is another issue...e-bay here I come!!!

Where are we going...and why are we in this hand basket???

getthenet

::)Well you guys really know how to slam each other!!
I really just read all of this topic today. So now another women has to put in her 2 cents. WE ARE PROUD OWNERS OF A NITRO and we love it!! Would we buy another one yes in deed we would. Boy, as I was reading through all this I kept saying come on Mike Noble give them the answer they need. Then finally you did, THANK YOU!! WE LOVE OUR NITRO!!

MotherNature

I see that many have read this thread and I just want to remind you all that it was started in jest,  and was supposed to be something to keep us occupied on a day whenthe forum was absolutly quiet and it did it's job and then some ;)

I am glad that everyone had a good time with this thread and I honestly hope that it keeps going  ;D but keep in mind those that come in later that it was not a cut throat type of deal it was all in and still is all in fun ;)

I know that Laurie, and I didn't think that at all, I live with a man who has the same kind of conversations with his buddies too. I was getting into it and also laughing at comments, but I still couldn't wait for Mike Noble to get on just like they couldn't wait.  I STILL LOVE MY NITRO!!  IT'S A MAN THING!

MotherNature

I guess it is a man thing  ;D but I can still say I love my Cobra! I do have my sights set on a Gambler! One fine day in the future we will have a beautiful "dual" console Gambler in the driveway, but even when that does happen I will still say that the Cobra was a good boat, just as I have about the Skeeter, and the Tracker, and the Nitros all of which we have owned  ~bb

"It Ain't all the things that we don't know that causes all the trouble...it's all the things that we DO know that ain't so!"

MotherNature

Geeesh, we can't have owned them all.... Shoot i think that in 14 years of marrage the number of boats that we have owned is rather large... I think in the neighborhood of ummmm 11...

Shoot buying them that often who could afford a Ranger  ;D

Thanks for the votes of confidence getthenet.  I was out of town when it started, but didn't take me long to catch up.  And I'm happy to see that getthenet and her husband are just another proud owner of a Nitro.

Papa...all you have to do is sign your name...you don't have to pay right now.

I think the verado costs a lot more to upgrade to than 3 to 4 thousand.

Ranger...you probably own a Ford too  ;D

Mike don't tell me you are a Chevy man. You buy your boats cheap but you pay high dollar on a POS like Chevy.

I'm on my second Tahoe...and my boat was NOT cheap.  Of course, I didn't have to take out a second mortgage like people buying rangers but it had a pretty good price tag.
