All the ranger names that were changed just confirms that all Cobra owners wish they were ranger owners.   ;D

Ranger, I have to go get the King of the water ready for tommorrow before I go to work. I will be anxiously waiting to get home and see what others have had to say. It's sure is a shame that all the nitro owners are chicken, guess I wouldn't be very proud if I owned a nitro either, both of the ones I have owned the transomes cracked  ~fl

As many of us in south Louisiana I have two boats, a boat for big water and a small boat for marsh fishing.  My marsh boat is quite unique.  Age an make are undetermined; the motor is 1987 25 HP Merc that still runs like a top despite the prop shaft being bent.

The boat carpet has turned a nice shade of black, which helps retain heat on these cold south Louisiana days.  The trailer lights work well accept after they have been submerged.

Several years ago my two sons were fishing together on the river.  For some reason that they were not able to explain to me they decided to both jump out of the boat while under full throttle (mothers side of the family).  Despite my best body work efforts the resulting collision with an oak tree has left a large and permanent "SMILE" across the front of the boat.

The trolling motor shaft is bent back so that when the trolling motor is engaged your first movement is down not forward. However, the front soon resurfaces and the boat moves forward.  My running lights work off some type of a sensor.  I don't know what it senses but they come on and go off when they please.

My dogs that loves to fish wets himself when he sees we are going out in the marsh boat.  But I love that boat. Don't worry about running over logs, stumps, hitting docks or trees, and do not have to clean it.

Mike Cork

Once again a most excellent post ~mcc~ ROFLMAO I love the running light sensor, I had one like that but never realized there was a sensor involved that explains everything

I personally like the carpets dual purpose and the trailer lights issue...it sounds as if you may win the "unique boat" award for this thread!   :o  ;D

Ranger, I thought you turn tailed and ran  ;D

Just one last thought for the day as it will be after midnight (technically tommorrow) before I get back to defend the Cobra Honor.

As Steve A (Gunter) pointed out in a previous post rangers are like a barge, more like the titanic and we all know what happened to it. I will be praying for all you ranger owners out there while I am filling my live well with monster bass, I won't be praying for your boat but that you might be allowed to catch a fish. Hey by the way do you ranger owners even know how to turn your livewells on?  8) should be a toggle switch on your consol some where, oh and don't forget to close the livewell valve.  ;D

It looks like Wildcat and I are in the same boat. My trailer lights do not get wet...they are mounted way up high on the guide posts...you know right where they will scratch the paint (which looks like it was professionally applied with a roller) if you don't get lined up jjjuuuussssttt right when loading. As for my trolling motor, the shaft is just short enough so any wave action produces a very cooling spray. Nice feature in the heat, might help counter act the black carpet Wildcat. It ran backwards when I got it, so I just switched the red wires and it works great! I think Wildcat and I have the same sensor for the running lights. I checked the red wires and didn't find any problems. My horn does not work either (I know...check the red wire), but gramps thoughtfully left a whistle attached to the throttle. I think it will work fine, if I can bring myself to put my lips on it. I am getting a new prop tomorrow...the old one appears to have been used to dredge the channel a few times. In one of the storage compartments I found a small bilge pump that attaches to the battery with alligator clips, and you guessed it, red wires...hmmmm. My boat does turn quite good at WFO (wide full open, what else would it mean??). Of course WFO in the mighty SeaSprite is a whopping 15mph with a passenger. Chine walk is not a problem ( I would give my right arm for a hint of chine walk!!!)!

Where are we going...and why are we in this hand basket???

Surprise Surprise Surprise.....

Ranger you are a poet, I had no idea. It must be all that time you have on your hands getting to your next spot in that pull start - get out and push mobile (ranger for short) that you call a boat.

All right Ranger you have won this battle but I will have bigger guns for the next one in this little war. Most excellent thread. I have to agree with you Ranger375 the writing style of Left Turn has had me in stitches, I guess it is because we probably have all been there, I know my first rig had many of the same issues.

dave the dope man

Now I'm not getting into this with all of you. I am going to make a contribution towards my last boat however. I had a sprint 2001 with a 90 hp force (you have to "force" it to run--POC). It was a "Deal" an '01 16ft on a '99 green trailer with that 90 which was a 2000 model. Follow me here-1999 trailer, 2000 force, 2001 RED boat. Right off the bat livewell (if you could call it that) (more like hole of death) leaked. I fixed that not the dealer. Next the motor would start only on days IT wanted to. I tried batteries, wires, ignition switch. It finally turned out to be the soleniod, hit it hard and it would work. Next I was getting ready to fishing, boat is still on the trailer, went inside to pay the launch fee, as I was walking I head something running. I looked back and the motor was tilting by itself and wouldn't stop. I pulled the batts and reconnected it, that stopped it.........until I was on plane up the river.....At a wot of 44 mph the bow started to lift and freaked me out. Turned out to be a faulty tilt switch on the bow. I could go on and on and on and on but won't...........So all be glad you have Rangers, Cobra's, maybe not Pro-Gators, but surely NOT A SPRINT..........I do love my Nitro though.......................Dave the (peace maker) Dope Man

Uh oh...Dave has a  ~bu  Nitro!   ;D   Hey....that rhymes!!  Dave...as Mike says...we have all been there...now a tilt/trim that runs by itself...that is classic...I have never heard of that one.   ;D
