I have a phenix m1 XH X- Fast 1-6 oz. casting rod for punching, a phenix M1 MH Fast 1/4 -3/4 oz casting rod for general purpose, and a Phenix Maxim M Fast 1/8 - 3/4 oz Spinning for finesse. Are the latter two too similar? They don't feel terribly different. I was thinking of maybe down grading the spinning real to a ML or L 1/8-1/2 oz (or maybe 3/8 oz). Or shall I upgrade the MH casting to a H (1/2-1 1/4 oz)? Or should I just buy another rod to bridge the gap between the light cast and the meat stick? Thanks!

I broke this out so we can look at it easier....

M Fast 1/8 - 3/4 oz Spinning for finesse

It really depends on what you're wanting to do. The Medium rod will allow you to fish shaky heads and drop shots where the bait caster in MH is better suited for texas rigs and jig work.

What are you looking for? With your set ups, I'd look for another medium heavy bait casting rod with a fast or extra fast action to take over my texas rig and jig work, and then use the one you have for spinnerbaits and chatterbaits.

While I'm not a big spinning rod fan for anything other than shaky heads, the rod you have will work well for prop baits, poppers, and smaller crankbaits.

You have 3 really good setups. I would, like the others have said, add another mh fast casting rod, then you would have all the setups you would NEED. If you're like me though you'll want more than that. Lol
