Ron, Mike, and several others have spoken very highly of the work of Mark Croxton. Last week I picked up a Raker 24P that I want to get cleaned up and balanced, and want to have some tuning work done on one of my 4 blade Renegades. While my setup is working much better, I'm still not proud of it yet and was hoping the answer to my desired RPM and speed was in the prop.

I've gotta tell you, the last time I made that kind of phone call and ended up talking with that kind of fellow was when I called NuTech Lures and got Bo James on the line. That also turned into a great and informative and enjoyable conversation.

I called Mark's place and left a message with his wife telling her I'd like to ask him a few questions before sending off a prop. That evening I got a call from Mark. I explained that I had re-powered and some of the steps I'd taken to get back the performance I once had. He asked me questions about WOT RPMs and speed from my old setup and new one and was able to calculate that I currently have a 9% slippage which he explained was exactly where I wanted to be.

Mark was a fountain of information and seemed to really enjoy sharing his knowledge and experience. He believes I'm not actually getting full WOT and explained that he has seen so many cases of re-power jobs where when the throttle control was full WOT, the motor was not. He suggested I pull off the cowling and check while putting the control at WOT position. It's probably just a minor cable adjustment that will get me the additional 600-700 RPMs I should be getting. I can't wait to check it out and will post my findings.

Mark was preparing to take some time off for a hunting trip so I told him I'll hold off a few weeks before I send him any work. I thanked him for taking the time to call me back and for sharing so much good information. It's rare to find people like Mark or Bo these days. It's awesome that they both chose to work in fields that support bass anglers!  ~c~

You know you have great support when they take the time to fully understand your needs and point out somethings that might be the issue before you spend money on their services.
