I'm 75, short legs, and have an arthritic left knee. I usually fish with live shiners and I set on the front pedestal seat. That means a few trips back and forth to my live well for shiners. The many steps up and down in the boat between the cockpit to the front deck would make me sore the next day. So I made a box about one foot square and covered it with carpeting. Now I have a step to help me get up and down. Made a big difference after a fishing trip. Here's a photo of the step in place. On the port side of the step is just enough room for my tackle box and on the starboard side is just enough room for my cooler.

I like it ! Do you have it attached so it won't move ?
Stop by the Garage and let me know if you have Maintenance issues that you need assistance with.

It is pushed to the starboard side which wedges it between the storage box and the steering console. It never moves.

Such a simple fix that will give great relief  ~c~ A man could get fancy and put hinges on it and make a mini storage box out of it as well.

Thornback, I gotta say you are one handy and creative individual. The things you come up with are really practical, low cost, and extremely helpful tips. Thank you.

Nicely done, Shipmate.  I'm with ya on doing anything/everything to help w/ mobility.

Maybe the next rev turns that step into a step/storage box?
