Don't mess with a gator if you have a plastic truck lol.
Sorry I saw this on FB and had to post it on here since we discuss gators so often. I got a nice laugh out of it.

Never ever under estimate the power of a gator. Yesterday, I cast to a spot where the gator was very well camouflaged, he caught my frog while in the air. The part that upset me was, that it was a new frog, and that was the last of that color that I had left. The scarier part is that my BIL wanted to retrieve  the frog!! The scarier part after that was that I brought a 7ft gator pretty close to the boat with a frog stuck in his mouth!! Fortunately the line broke and every one including the gator was ok. BTW. a Dobyns 736 Champion rod is one bad  ^-^ rod!!  ~roflmao

I've broken a few rods on a gator or two, it isn't as thrilling a story as if you told somebody you broke it on a fish though.  It was always the hidden ones that got me.

I had one go after my frog yesterday good thing it wasn't hidden. I was able to get the frog out of harms way.

We were training some of the new guys on running an airboat in deep water in the wetlands in Lakeland one day and after all was done I decided to take it out for a little run.  We crossed this one spot in one of the pits many times that day with no problems, I crossed the same path and one came up from the bottom and hit the back end of that boat, put it in the air in a bad way and woke me up pretty quickly.

Got back and pulled a tooth out of the edge of the aluminium of the boat.  That is one of the many reasons all of our work boats were metal instead of glass.

The first year there was a gator hunt in Florida a guy took his new ranger boat to the hunt.  He came back missing a chunk of hull up by the trolling motor.  I guess you have to learn some lessons the hard way!
