The view from my balcony. I will be hitting this later today for sure.

Yeah i was so close to buying the draw tight. The thing is there are over 400 reviews for the curt and its like a 4.5 star. Every review is good. This is supposed to be bolt on. But i have to lower the dual exaust to get it in place. Then the holes wouldnt line up. I mean im talking about a couple of mm off. We should have drilled out bigger holes. The fish wires provided were crappy so by the end we only had 1 that was in tact. You gotta get the bolts into a hole in the chassis then pull it through the smaller hole about 8 inches away hold the hitch in place and get the screw through hitch hole and chassis.but when the holes dont line up properly its a problem. Easy to line up 1. But when you want to line up the second it all goes to hell

Well the boat is 2500. Doesnt need anything done really. i know ill want to paint it. Ill want an automatic bilgepump and a big livewell that ill put together myself with a cooler. The livewell the boat has is more of a baitwell and wont hold more than 2 small bass.
I increased my budget a bit. My next big purchase will be a truck. Even though i would be under the 1000 lbs max tow of the mustang i dont want to haul a boat with it forever.

Update on the hitch. Turns out my friens and are not idiots. The mechanic had to shave off some metal from the hitch to align the holes. He says it has been a nightmare to get loose and reinstall. Finally got my mufflers on with some tweaking because of course i dont have stock exhaust. Now he is going to start on wiring. Then oil change. At least he made progress in 2 hours as opposed to our 4 of screwing stuff up lol

Well we made it safely to our resort. Since Fred shared his views I will share ours.

No fishing for me however. ;)

So got it all set up. Only thing I am missing right now is the hitch ball but my friend has one.

I am concerned about the ball mount being low. It seems fairly low to the ground.

They make several different size lifts and drops. You'll just have to measure where it's at and where you think the trailer should be and get one.

Something like this.. you can flip them upside down to be a riser.

I bought the locking kit from Walmart that included a ball hitch style lock, a lock for the hitch it's self and one that locks the trailer on the ball. I think it was $30 at Walmart and all locks use the same key.

That would be perfect. Well I am going up there with the one I have. If it doesn't work I'll look for an auto parts store that may have what will.
